Well..the Dragon 1/72 Humvee kit finally hit the shelves in my AO this past week and if this release holds true to Dragons release of their Challenger 2 and Bradley kit releases, we "should" see the diecast versions very soon. Picked up two of the kits and again am amazed at the level of detail dragon is able to put into these kits. The detail in all honesty, far exceeds any 1/35 kit (not including detail/update kits). Each kit affords the builder the ability to complete two humvees. The chasis is a work of art and the accurate rubber tires are a BIG plus. The kit allows you to build several variants, and includes pe (photo etch) brush guard, rubber tires, outstanding detail, and the price is certainly right at $10.95. For anyone into actually building, this is a "must have". Now hopefully the diecast versions will be close behind :-)

Thanks for the news. Does the kit have the option to build an
"up armored" version of the Hummer?

Well the kit does offer the ASK (Armor Survivability Kit) option, which pretty much just equates to armored doors and immediate surrounding area under doors and butting up to the front quarter panel. Thats as close as it really gets to being "up armored". However, thanks to sheet styrene (Plastruct brand) it will get the full treatment as well as gun shields etc.
