re-release--FOV M26 Pershing?

Post by dragon53 » Sat Sep 19, 2009 12:37 pm

I read earlier this year that FOV was re-releasing the 1/32 M26 Pershing. Has this been confirmed?

* Nope , not to my knowledge. Unless they plan to surprise us w/ their lineup for 2010 . Which I gather is going to be quite exciting for new vehicles.

........... but they say that every year. We shall "wait & seeeeeee".

MG42:

I finally found the original post about the rumored re-release of the Pershing---s dealer said it isn't true.

So what is FOV expected to be release in 2010?

All the current Bravo Team 1:72 junk in FOV Enthusiast boxes for $50 a pop :P

An M-26 re-release would be nice, however. Funny how some FOV vehicles saw a bunch of repaints - the Tigers and King Tigers come to mind - but other vehicles only saw one issue like the M-26, Challenger II, and T-72. I'd like to get an M-26 eventually. That, the Stug IIIB and the HIMARS truck are the only examples I'm missing from my FOV collection.

2010 FOV Lineup

Post by lightning2000 » Sat Sep 19, 2009 5:31 pm

Hi,
Typically, Unimax announces their new lineup at the IHobby Expo, which is held next month in Illinois. While it would certainly be nice to see Unimax re-issue the M26 Pershing, nothing is certain at this point. I, for one, would love to see re-issues of the M26, Challenger II, Grant and Matilda, all of which would do well at retail. Guess we'll have to wait and see what they have in store for the FOV line as well as some of their newest ranges.

Keep in mind too, that re-issues are more likely this year than ever before, given the state of the economy. The costs of new tooling is high, so many manufacturers would rather pump out existing product in different guises rather than invest in riskier propositions...

Yeah, I'm with Mitch on this one... a certain "JC" has been rumored to re-appear for a while now too, but I'll believe it when I see it. 8) German is what sells the most, by far, so if reissues are on the horizon, that's probably the most likely.

Anybody see the movie "Airheads"?

where the rockers hold the radio station hostage (comically so)?

Rocker: You have all these great songs here, why do you only play same 30?
Exec: If they're so great how come they're not tearing up the charts?
Rocker: Cause you never play 'em!

Seem familiar?

On a similar note...how come they have not made the stuff they can with a little retooling? Such as Calliope Shermans, Dozer Shermans, Various German Half-Tracks...etc.
