Just picked up a "Black Cat",and it is a really nice model.
The Corgi Catalina's are among their best models IMO,and come in a number of different schemes
The Black Cat is my favourite though

Yeah cornbread,
Any of the Corgi Catalina's are great.I have two others.USN "Snafu Snatchers",and RAF "Singapore".
But the "Black Cat" is my favourite.
The Flying Mule has one right now,but it is $150.

Snake, about what is the wingspan of the PBY in 1/72nd scale?

Almost 18".So it is a decent size.
You can get some of the other Catalina's off Ebay for about $80,if you are patient.
But BC does not show up very often.I guess that people do not want to sell them.

I have a 48th scale Franklin Mint PBY that I really like. It is a good size and very heavy.

It must be pretty big and heavy.Got a few of the larger FM myself.
What scheme is your PBY cornbread?

Mine is the Black Cat, looks a lot like your 72nd scale version. You can see it on the Flying Mule site.

I have the FM 1:48 Cat in the Midway colors. I wish I went with the Corgi plane in the 1:72. The FM version is pretty big and heavy. I have Corgi bombers in 1:72 and they are always top notch. Nice Black Cat...

I've had the Corgi "Black Cat" for a short while. I haven't had a chance to display it yet, but it is an impressive bit of diecast. I have the only other Cat I have - the most recent RCAF release - displayed along with my Fleet Air Arm and RAF Coastal Command collection. Huge wingspan.

Catalinas in 1/48 and 1/32, nice. I like them a lot, and seeing one of those beautiful monsters in person is awesome.
