Any word on who picked up 21st Century's 1/32 molds?
Whoever does, I hope Roy Sutherland is involved.

I haven't heard anything yet. They're starting to climb in prices on ebay for the unavailable ones, like Mustangs and now some of the Zeros and FW-190A's.
Would be cool if a company like JSI would pick them up, and be able to fill orders from Walmart.
A guy like Roy at the R&D, production helm could keep the line fresh and less redundant.
Distribution is another animal.

With the economy the way it is, I just don't see anyone outside of China picking up with 1/32 unless they can sell them thru mass retailers. I think JSI picking up the ball on 1/18 was just a fluke as they already had the molds, they just saw a way to make some money on stuff they already knew how to make.

Don't know if you can say that FOV is exactly picking up the ball. Here it is July and they are not what I would call filling the void left by 21st. A couple of releases every 6 months doesn't exactly bode well for 1/32 enthusiasts.

21C wasn't filling the void when they were in business.

True... but they had their own niche.
They were more affordable than their competition.
FOV is too clunky...

Well I guess we won't be looking for you to be picking up that torch any time soon.

It's ok, I got tons of 1:18, but decided I can't display as many dogfight scenes from my ceiling, or armor on my shelves. The 1:32 figures kinds suck but the vehicles are what I like anyways.
So most of my 1:18 is still in the box as I don't have mushroom.

Or at least till the relatives move out, then it's manclave time with the 1:18!

So go to the grocery store and buy some. What are they, like $1.99 a pound?

Is a "manclave" anything like an autoclave?
Maybe a form of vasectomy?

That doesn't explain the mushrooms, however.

Too bad someone like HobbyBunker doesn't pick up the 21st planes. It's probably a major investment, but they've reproduced a lot of the old Marx plastics.

If you buy too many mushrooms, you won't have mushroom in the fridge for anything else.
Spanglish slang.
Was checking the prices of completed auctions, and it's the 21st Corsairs and Mustangs that seem to be getting consistently high prices.
Recently a striped 21st King Tiger however.
Some guy listed quite a few rarer ones like the white tail Corsair and an Eileen Thunderbolt for $19 buy it now, and they didn't last long. Somebody bought them right away.

autoclave: a strong heated container used for chemical reactions and other processes using high pressures and temperatures, e.g. a steam sterilizer
manclave: a steamed, sterilized man

Talking about fun Michigan Toy Soldier seems to have a lot of 21st C vehicles, figures and airplanes still available at regular prices.

I saw a bunch of 1/32 planes @$32.99, others at $28.99, playsets @ $28.99 and ve3hicles @ $21.99. Their prices are generally a bit higher but always have been. That some particular items are priced outasight doesn't surprise me either.
