Small Scale Military Headquarters

Anyone else really want a P-61?
Really cool plane,with an awesome black "stealth" paint scheme.
I built this kit as a kid,and have had a fondness for it ever since.
I think that it would be a great model,and if they can release the Henschel,and Bristol Beaufighter etc.,the time for a P-61 is upon us!

YUP I am all over that one.

I built one too in 1:72 when I was a kid.

I'm just waiting for someone to start making some twin engine planes in 1:32 plastic prebuilt.

Funny...I was just at the Reading PA WWII Airshow this past weekend where they are restoring one. The museum at Reading Airport is I should say. They say there are only four Black Widows left in the world. By next year they should have it mostly back together with engines installed. It would make a fine 1/32 plane.

Is that the one they pulled off a mountainside a while back - the pilot had buzzed the airfield (in SE Asia) too low and couldn't pull up in time to avoid the crash so dropped it best he could. No resources at the time to salvage it then so they left it. I think I saw it as part of a special on Mega Movers that included the P-38 they dug out of a glacier.



I had the Monogram 1/48 model years ago - I'd like one now in 1/32.

Yes I believe it is the same one. It was found in...damn....some island. I forget what the guy said...but it did crash "in training".

Next time I go I'll take some pics.

That would be an awesome choice for 1:72 scale. It would also look good in 1:48 or 1:32 as well

Another plane I'd like to see done in 1:72 is the A-26. It had a long service career in three wars and plenty of variations as well.
