KING AND COUNTRY BERLIN FIGURES!!!!!

Post by Sniper73 » Fri Apr 22, 2005 4:07 pm

WOW-

So I went to Classic Toys today in NYC and they just got their first shipment of Berlin Germans (Russians havent arrived yet) and all I can say is wow. The figures are spectacular. Unbelievable, thats all there is to it. The great coats on the Volksgrenadiers and the SS men are even better than those of the normandy Waffen SS figure sets. The paint jobs are better in my opinion and the coloring on the camo seems more real if that makes sense. The German anti tank gun is also impressive with the rocket shell attached, but otherwise, very similar to the Blitzkrieg 1940 gun.

I did not get a great look at the armoured car, but from what I saw, it is great with a detailed interior cabin and two full figures (not the usual armor half figs). The mint color that has recieved some flak recently is really not that bad at all. Personally I like it, although not as much as the scheme on the jagdpanther. The brown and the yellow in the 3 color scheme are very faded along with the mint color so it actually looks more like a jagdpanther that has been out in the sun too long than anything else. I think that the majority of you will be pleasantly surprised by it in person.

The reversible smocks worn by many of the soldiers are well done indeed. A three tone scheme, forest great, a minty light green and a mid range brown. The painting as I said is better (imo) than the normandy waffen ss, looks more believable and there arent as many variants as in those figures so there is a little more uniformity which I like. Unfortunately I was unable to see any of the buildings or russians as they are still en route.

Lastly, the volksgrenadiers are amazing, particularly the one with glasses holding an MP44. The coats are great and the arm bands are impressively done. It should also be pointed out that the facial features on these troops are even more realistic than the normandy men. Truly great figures and even more deserving of the higher price that recently has come about for the KC figs.

Anyway, thought I'd keep you guys posted. Let me know if you had any specifics you wanted to know about that I didnt cover and Ill do my best to answer.

Oh, I picked up the King tiger for myself and I'm going to go back to staring at it now. heh

You seem to be nibbling at buying K&C, you must see these sets in person, as pictures don,t do them justice.
