Post by dragon53 » Mon Mar 09, 2009 5:47 am

Does anyone have any high-quality photos of the 21st Century 1/32 P-47 "Tarheel Hal"?
If so, can you post them here.
Thanks.

I found this online:
Ken's Aviation: Republic P-47 Thunderbolt

and this:

Tarheel Hal Pics

The 2nd photo from the top of page.
... and if you scroll down near the bottom, there's a pic or Tarheel Hal flying next to an F-15.

RAD2112:

Thanks for the photos. The "Tarheel Heel" repaint is located in Galveston---I was thinking of emailing them about additional history on the P-47 and its pilot, Lt. Ike Davis.

Tarheel Hal, it's a fancy paint job, really nice.

Me, I like that "Big Chief" P-47 in the pics. Olive drab, nice nose art, no invasion stripes, just a clean mid- WWII scheme.
Nice link Rad2112.

I'm originally from Durham. If I ever return, my choice would be back to Raleigh.

Yes, I heard it's really great up in your area and in Asheville, but I grew up in the central part of NC and love Raleigh. Just about any part of NC is better than Houston. That's why I have an NC model collection.
