Franklin Mint 1/48th scale F-18 Hornet

Post by P39time » Tue Dec 23, 2008 10:37 am

I went to a friend of mines home yesterday, and he has a nice 48th scale collection. He had a couple of really nice looking Franklin Mint 48th scale F-18s. They were in special Canadian paint schemes, and were really nice looking. Anyone here have any of the Franklin Mint F-18s? I think I will have to get one.

I'm thinking of getting one also, but haven't seen one in person. So I was searching the boards for info and this is all I found so far.

Did you get one, and if so which one?

It is actually known as the CF-18.I have one of these. Not a huge FM fan,but being from Canada, seemed like a no brainer.Other than a BBI 1:18 scaleF-18,the next largest you can get.
They did 200 units from Bagotville,Quebec, and 200 units from Cold Lake AlbertaEach comes with a numbered plaque,on the underside of the stabilator.
Pretty limited edition, and a nice model to boot!As far as I know,a very rare FM special edition.Very happy I have one!
