1/32 helicopters

I wish FOV would make 1/32 choppers. It would be great for a Nighthawk or Huey or Cobra. Imagine all the color schemes or even different countries' versions of the Huey alone.
I realize in the past Testors made the Apache and I think NewRay made a Vietnam era Marine Huey, (both of which I have) but some additional craft would be great. FOV has made a significant amount of Iraq/modern era troops and vehicles.... Why not some choppers?

A Hind would be killer!

I say we go big like a Boeing Chinook or a Sky Crane to haul some armor. Or even a Flying Banana. (sorry I don't know the number designations of these choppers, but you know what I'm saying)

A few years ago Walmart had a 1/32 scale Huey in Marine colors sold under their house brand. I picked one up and still like it a lot.

I have a few of the Hueys. I painted one with Desert Storm color. It looks like the ones that have been used in Afghanistan. I'm planning on painting one white and making it a United Nations chopper to go along with my Britains UN Landrover and troops.
A little while back I was able to purchase 4 or 5 of the Hueys for $10 a piece at of all places a model railroad show.

I think Italeri makes quite a few 1/35 helo kits, a Hind included. Prices are in the three digits though so I have stayed away. They could look good with some of those old 1/32 Russian kits Glenco put out...

Not only are the Italeri and Tamiya kits expensive but they are so detailed that you have to be so patient and dedicated when constructing the model. It also becomes frustrating when you have to put together so many pieces for a part of the model that can't actually /literally be seen: the engine for example.
Revell has a 1/32 Cobra, Vietnam era. It's also one of their less sophisticated models. In other words its a model kit for the less advanced model builder.
I've built the Glenco Soviet kits. A Russian helo in 1/32 would look great with them.

The 1/32 Hueys were made by Toy Zone. I don't even know if that company is still in existence. I do recall seeing this product at Walmart, Meijers and even Toys-R-Us. They also made a 1/32 P51, a 1/40 P38 and some modern jet fighters.
Some of the original Conte D-Day sets had the P51 and P38 planes come with them. (The Conte D-Day sets also came with the original 21st Century Tiger.)

Toy Zone also had two 1/40 Helo as well, an AH-64A and an AH-1W Sand Camo, both very nice and relatively easy to customize with a little elbow grease.

Although the weather here is almost balmy..... It hit 60 degrees with lots of rain... I was happy there was no snow. I finished my 1/32 Huey UN chopper. It looks pretty good. I Googled UN choppers and they had a UN Huey from New Zealand and I mirrored it.
