Is $40 the going price for a BBI Wildcat?

.

give or take a dollar or two, yep. Also, looking from front to back, both elevators are off a little, the rudder seems straight, but I guess I need to heat up the tab on one and see if that cures it.

BBI F4F Wildcat
I saw that as well...

Here's the most important question:
Is it worth the $43?

I have been collecting inexpensive 21C AC that I am almost wincing at the prospect of collecting +$40 AC.

Trust me its worth it! Its one of the best done 1/32 planes i have. I also have the Dauntless and they are both fantastic. I also collect 21C but how many BF-109's and P-51"s can you have? BBI's new 1/32 represent 2 of the most important planes of the war!

I am a HUGE fan of the BBI Wildcat and Dauntless. They are as good as it gets in my book.

I believe the higher price is something we will need to get used to. The fact of rising costs in China and minimum orders being doubled will continue to have its affect. I for one am willing to pay alittle more if the quality is good! and these 2 planes are great!

OK... you broke me. Now, I'll have to get a Wildcat... and maybe a Dauntless.
At least BBI hit the nail on the head by going with Lt. James Swett's plane.

BTW: I have all of the Bf-109F/Gs and P-51B/C/Ds. ;)
I still think they should have made schemes for Eric Hartmann, Gunther Rall, Bud Anderson, Richard A. Peterson, etc.
...but I digress

I agree with your choices for more repaints especially the Rall, Hartmann and Anderson.
its just nice to add a new plane to your collections. I have a real good dealer if you need help. always deals on multiple items.

Historically, I would have preferred that BBI had chosen Butch O'Hare's F4F instread of Swett's because of the trivia (O'Hare airport and his father was Al Capone's lawyer-turned-informant). However, I think Swett's F4F paint scheme is better than O'Hare's old paint scheme.

I want that one! Or a Midway scheme! Please, BBI? I've always wanted the Felix the cat logo on the side...
