32X Sdkfz 222 Review

I just recieved my 32X Sdkfz 222 and I think it's great!
This is just a small review (sorry no pics) on it.
Paintjob-The paintjob is the Eastern Front Camo version, tan and brown (?), it is very well painted with no flaws. My only complaint is that there is only weathering on the gun. So 9/10.
Features-The vehicle features an opening top on the small turret, the turret turns and the wheels go around. It could have had opening hatches (which are on either side near the bottom). Another 9/10.
Details-It is extremely detailed, so it lives up to it's name! 10/10.
Accessories-Well I got mine loose from eBay, and it came with one figure who unfortunately fell in half!

But the figure's paintjob is quite good compared to the ones which came with my Jagdtiger, so I give it a 9/10.
Overall, the 32X Sdkfz 222 is a must have! 10/10!

There's an XD 222? Since when? I really must have missed something.

I too am surprised that there is an XD 222. Perhaps a European version? This from eBay?

I think this is a great piece and I was really surprised when it came out as it seemed and odd choice to do when 1/32 was just spooling up.
There are three series of this:
S1 Grey
S2 Tan/Brown camo
S3 Tan/Brown came variant that came with the "Iron Horses" pack
If you don't have one I strongly urge you to get one. This Iron Horses pack is mostly sold out on line and comes with the halftrack in the same camo scheme.

1/32 isn't XD. XD is 1/18. Yes, the 32X 222 is a nice piece.

If I am not mistaken, don't the 32x Boxes say "Xtreme Detail 32X?

But does it also say "XD"? It has been my understanding the "XD" nomenclature is for the 1/18 only, not the 1/32 regardless of the detail extremis.

Yes, typically when you hear XD, you are under the impression it is 1/18, but the 1/32 boxes also say "XD", so it is confusing, but not incorrect.

Fair enough so we are talking here then about the 1/32 SdKfz 222....

I believe so, because I'm unaware of this model ever being issued in 1/18 scale... at least by 21st Century. I think this must be the one he's referring to... To the best of my Knowledge the designation "XD" was exclusive to 1/18, but I'm not positively certain about that...

ostketten: The one in your photo is from the two vehicle set. The others were the panzer grey (S1) and the dark yellow with dark red & green (S2). This is a great little model. Works wonderfully. The turret doesn't turn too well, especially with a man in it, but over all I really like it myself. It does not have as many things happening as your average tank but it a fine little toy.

Sorry I've caused a bit of confusion...

Mine is the dark yellow with dark red and green (S2) and is 1:32.

Now, Itcbj.. when you say a/c, do you mean aircraft or armored car?

actually I mean air conditioning. Here in the South I couldn't liver without it in my home, car (armored or not) or aircraft (imaginary or not).
Although I was actually referring there to the armored car.

Thanks for clarifying, I don't think I can handle any more confusion!

The 234 series. The Puma.

And it would be nice to have a set of motorcyclists to go along with the armored cars.

The armoured cars in 1:18 would be nice as well.
