* Got my Deuce Today = Review

* Just received my
Deuce & a 1/2 from Foxhole Toys today. *
* Matt sent me a boxed one instead , for the same pri¢e as the loose one we discussed.
Thanks Matt ! ! ! *
So here goes : In a
D-Day Commemorative Series box !
* No more plastic bases w/ ID-plates ! ... just cardboard w/ tie-downs and just a statement on the box commemorating
D-Day. Comes w/ the usual accessories , ie ..... drum , road-block horse ,
puppy , 3-jerry cans , box w/ 2 wine bottles , ammo crate , ration crate , GI & for 50-cal. , barbed-wire ~ spool , and a collector card.
* The driver is already seated in a pre-positioned state of grace.
* The truck rolls freely w/o any wobble. The top is not removable of course , and is glued down. No weathering to speak of except on the tires.
* The tail-gate opens but you'll have to rip the top off first , to do this.
LoL ! ! !
... THE HOOD & DOORS DO NOT OPEN ! ! !
* The winch does'nt work and is a mold ,.. and the under carriage is somewhat detailed too.
"Overall , it's still a nice piece but not for the pri¢e". Hopefully it will be available in
Action Grade as well.

That's it ! ! ! ... whoop de !

Any way to get the driver out?
How is one to make a dio of Panzers shooting up trucks if the driver's still staring stoicly ahead???
If there's Action Series, there'll be plenty of test subjects.

That's such a disappointment, even Matchbox can get that going on a 99 cent car..
Ah well, still happy seeing someone releasing new stuff and trucks to boot!

Thanks for the review!

Just paint an "Oh Sh*t!" expression on his face and you'll be fine...

* There is an ammo crate on the floor board on the passenger side where the seat used to be for the GI 50-cal. gunner to stand on , and part of the trigger guard mechanism is molded into the gunners hands too.

Cardboard and tie-downs, minimal weathering and non functioning doors and hood, etc. etc. on an Enthusiast grade vehicle. Wow.
I'll DEFINITELY wait for this one to hit Target. MY 21st Opel and Maultier blow this away and I got them for $14 each.

Well the rise in costs has hit this hobby pretty hard , gone are the day of relatively cheap FOV vehicles with 3-4 figures and tons of accessories .

I can expect some cuts but it seems they really trimmed off a lot while keeping the price about the same as a tank. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice looking deuce and a half and I will buy an action series version if one indeed comes out but I don't think it is worthy of the Enthusiast series name and price.

This piece is too generic to be Enthusiast grade. ... A real bummer ! ! !

* I don't have a digital cam , so perhaps Scott "Ostketten" can provide a few pics for us if his time will permit.
* Edit : Nevermind , he wanted to start his own pic thread. ... picky , picky .

Done. I started a new thread though, because it includes both the Deuce and Elefant. Hope you guys find the pics useful.
