I posted on another message board suggesting that Hobby Master should release a 1/72 diecast SR-71. The head guy at Hobby Master replied another company he wouldn't name is already working on a 1/72 SR-71. He said, "But for those who love the SR-71, you will probably see it very soon."
The SR-71 is a "must buy" for me so I'm really looking forward to it.
great news !

The new SR-71 should be announced this month. Rumor is that it will be Century Wings---which makes detailed, high quality Navy jets. I have four (two F-14s and two A-6s). The minus is that Century Wings models are pretty expensive which is why I didn't buy their F-8s and A-7s. But I will buy the SR-71---it's a "must buy".

LTCBJ:
It's confirmed from Century Wings' website:
One dealer estimated the SR-71 might cost the same as a Hobby Master 1/32 diecast SBD Dauntless---which is around $153....one rumor is $200.
