Small Scale Military Headquarters

Just picked up this MIB William Britains 54mm T-34/76 tank on ebay for a great price (just over $55 including priority mail shipping) and was wondering if anyone has one of these...?? This one (item #17497D) was sold in 2004 and is long since retired, I never bought any of the Britains armor, partly because of expense (retailed for about $100 new I think) and partly because I don't like the molded in tracks, but the detail and painting on this looks first rate, and the price was too good to pass up, plus nobody else I'm aware of makes a T34/76 in this scale. I would like to hear opinions from anybody who has one of these. Model shops in Britain often have the W Britains stuff and In my opinion some of it is very good indeed but the tracks on the armour still puts me off. I do however really like the figures.
Incidentally there are a lot of K & C fans and I think I should mention that I believe the Britains vehicles are generally better than the K&C eqiuvalents and are much better scaled to there figures.

All I have of Britains are farm and wild animals from the 1960s. And I think a farm girl.

For anyone who might be interested the guy has a couple more of these for sale at the moment, as well as a winter version for even less... http://cgi.ebay.com/RARE-BRITAINS-17497 ... .m20.l1116 It's worth noting that his item description is somewhat in error, this particular T-34/76 is equipped with the ChTZ (Chelyabinsk Traktory Zavod) turret that wasn't produced until late 1942, so it could not have participated in the defense of Moscow (Dec. 41') The ChTZ turrets were actually produced by the UTZM (Uralmash) plant utilizing armor plate to form the upper portion of the turret using a special 100 ton press, the only one of it's kind in existence in the Soviet Union at the time, and this process produced a turret with very distinctive and unmistakeable features and shape. I can hardly fault this seller for not knowing, because there is a bewildering array of "sub" types of the T-34 with some 5 or 6 factories producing turrets alone, and each with some unique charachteristics of their own. An interesting footnote for anyone who cares about such things...

I bought three of these when treefrog had them on sale. $25 each if I remember. I wanted a 1/32 T34/76 unit and I didn't see any movement towards it by 21st or FOV. Now that 1/32 armor seems to be slowing down I'll have to get out the airbrush and do some customizing.

Yes, cheaper. I went to the guys eBay store. A lot of people with eBay stores will put merchandise out for auction at significant discount to draw buyers to their site.

I got drawn directly from the original auction. He wants $50 for this in his store as a buy-it-now.

I have one of those, got it off ebay at a really good price new, i think it came out to $35 for the tank and $10 for shipping. I immediately took it out of the box and compared it to the FOV T-34/85 and was surprised that they actually weren't that different in size. The figure-half seemed disproportionately huge though lol.
