Revell 1:72 B-36 Peacemaker Kit on Ebay

Not my auction but I figured it might interest some of you guys. I built this model back when I was in high school in the early 90's and it is HUGE! 28 inches long with a 38 ΒΌ inch wingspan!
I have always been intrigued by this awesome plane and own several books on the subject, including Magnesium Overcast which I highly recommend.

I had it hanging next to a 1:48 B-29 and it dwarfed the damn thing. It would have been super cool if they included the sliding panels that exposed the 20mm cannon turrets.

I just bought one at my local Hobbytown USA last Saturday. I guess they are still being made. It is the Revell/Monogram kit. Same as the old Monogram kit just molded in grey. $35, I think it cost...

Did the B36 bombers have jet engines with the props when they first went in service?
I also bought the B29, P61 and B17 1:48 models from Squadron. Again, they are as the old Monogram kits, just molded in grey. I had them all when I was a kid. The new B17 even had the diorama instruction sheet included. I think Shepard Paine was the diorama guy for Monogram, but his name didnt appear on this copy of the instructions...

Just props when it went into service. I think it was the "C" model that had the "six turning and four burning" introduced and then they upgraded all the "B" models.
This would looks sweet with all my itty bitty 1/72 fighters! I don't have any bombers and this would be one hell of a way to start.

Hell yeah it would! I'm telling you, it made my 1:48 B-29 look like a B-25!

Thanks Rows. I have never seen that movie but I think I will have to check it out. I love the Peacemaker. I think SAC would have owned the Soviets if push had come to shove.
