Small Scale Military Headquarters

It's frustrating to see production and distribution dates delayed, especially if the item has been long anticipated. The initial date for sales of the FoV Elefant and 2 1/2 ton truck was around May, I think, but now it has been pushed back to late September. What might have caused the delays? The Olympics should'nt have a large impact on toy production rates, right? On the company's part, shouldn't they inform the general public of their updated dates? Or perhaps a picture of the prototype, to let buyers see the product and decide for themselves whether they want to wait another month or two. Plus, what of the quality control? New models showed that the effort has slipped a notch, at least from what I've seen. Will these new releases be the same? Finally, if FoV were to delay the Elefant and the Deuce Half until January of next year, will you tolerate the delay and still buy it? Your thoughts.

I'm interested in Deuce an' a half, and if I have to wait, I have to wait. Now, a newer five ton truck might have me more interested...

Ruger, have you got a HIMARS? It's based on the FMTV 5 ton. Maybe you can get an Action Series one, and strip off the launcher, to make a wrecker or something like that.

DK, FOV has never hit a release date for their merchandise. I wouldn't worry about that. What I would worry about is how they keep raising the prices and lowering the quality...I am not going to pay $80 for a 1/32 AFV piece and I don't think too many others will either.

Assume you are referring to the Elefant Oli...?? I think the FOV deuce had a pre-release price point of around $60 IIRC. You might be surprised (or shocked) at what people will pay... I'm pretty sure the Dragon 1/35 armor sells for around $100 plus depending on the model, and up until recently at least, I think they were pretty good sellers, and the Tamiya 1/35 stuff can go for nearly twice that much. At the very least I'll be getting an FOV deuce and a half, it's too important a piece not to have in my collection, and until some other manufacturer steps up with something better I'll just have to pay the piper.

I had a hard time convincing myself to buy another FOV PZ IV for the increased price of 50 bucks. I don't think I could handle $80 or so. Thats $20 less than the damn Star Wars AT-TE!

I hate to have to wait on the Elefant, but the appeal of a new model, from a company with a good reputation, has kept my pre-order. The Dragon Elefants are awesome: I saw one at a local model shop and they were very detailed and well painted. However, they're off scale by 3 to FoV, and wouldn't really fit into the collection. DiecastDirect.com is having a sale on a particular Elefant if anyone's interested.

Which is shocking, because for that price it's less than the FoV Elefant.
I trust FoV to make a decent to good Elefant at any rate, and I'll wait it out too. I just hope the quality issues aren't going downhill.

Their Deuce and a Half is also fifty bucks, which is alright considering one pays 50 on the Flakvierling.

There will always be someone with the money to pay those prices, and if my income increased vastly I would pick up $80 FOV with no worries. I think that FOV doesn't move much seeing as there is plenty of inventory at the e-tailers of releases two years old. I don't think they are doing a very brisk business with their increased price points.

I think we will see the duece and a half at TRU and Target in an action grade so I am not too worried about that one. Thank goodness because we really need some allied trucks!

That's good news in my book if it proves to be correct, and hopefully the Elefant as well. I've always thought that the FOV action grade represented a great value for what you get... and in some cases was even superior to the "enthusiast" stuff.

What about the new D-Day Series? I find it kind of dissapointing, because in the beginning etailers the Creighton Abrams Sherman, supposedly to come with a set of 3 soldiers. Then, they started posting the picture of the earlier Sherman, though marked as a new release. Same with the Tiger: they showed it to have bow track links, but now the pics don't show it. I find it depressing that Forces of Valor isn't putting the effort in to create any modification to their products, other than re-painting and slapping on a new tactical number.
How about the new Mustang? It looks cool in the new camouflage.
Would be awesome if it were to be distributed in Targets and TRUs.

80 bucks!!! Seesh! No way would I pay that, impossible to justify that when you could 4 21st tanks for that price... I tink I would pay 50 dollars max.

I'm not worried about FOV yet... I just found some of their newest 1:72 vehicles at TRU today
