1/32 McCain A-4 Skyhawk?

If John McCain is elected president, is there a chance 21st Century (or BBI) would release a 1/32 McCain A-4 Skyhawk?...and if so, would you buy it?

I think it would be a popular seller for obvious reasons and ideal for 1/32 because the A-4 is relatively small---40' long (without the refueling probe) compared to the ME-262 (38.5') and P-51 (33')---both already released by 21st Century in 1/32. It wouldn't have the "big box" problem that may have affected the 1/18 George Bush Avenger non-release. A plastic McCain A-4 would be preferable to the 1/72 diecast McCain A-4 which is only 6" long.

Also, there are good repaint possibilities---Israel, Blue Angels, Australia, Argentina, etc.

That would be cool. The A-4 is such a neat looking plane. I would really love to have one in Blue Angels paint. :D

SABREFAN:

If McCain wins, I think a 1/32 McCain A-4 would be a popular model--not only to serious collectors, but to the casual collector/general public. In other words, to the model companies: $$$$$$$$.

I'm in.

Maybe even a Kuwaiti version for Desert Storm? C'mon, I know I'm not the only guy who's into modern era stuff, right? Right...?

Hobby Master has a 1:72 version and if McCain were president, I could see a 1:32 example from BBI being likely. They already have a proven track record with 1:32 jets from the Vietnam era. They are also more reliable about announcing something and then making it - much more so that 21c ever was. Besides, BBI made that 1:6 scale figure of President Bush Jr. in his Naval flight gear from the "Mission Accomplished" fiasco.

I've got the Hobby Master 1/72 McCain on the second level of my "must buy" list---mainly because it's only 6" long and if McCain wins, there's the possibility of a plastic 1/32 McCain A-4. I'd prefer the latter---particularly if it's BBI.

I agree a Skyhawk would make a sweet model. How about an OPFOR Top Gun scheme?

Very viable... I'd like to see some of the really colorful USN schemes. :D All those light blues and rainbows and oranges... :D

I would buy it even if he didn't win, simply because it's a cool aircraft.
Which version though? the one that got fried on the aircraft carrier or the one he got shot down in?
I seem to remember he transfered to another squadron after the fire, but I'm not sure.
After the F4 Phantom I think BBI has got the 1/32 jets pegged.

DAUNTLESS:

McCain was on the USS FORRESTAL when the disaster occurred---this is Corgi's 1/72 version. He then transferred to the USS ORISKANY and was shot down---which is Hobby Master's version.

Maybe a pretty big "if"..... might be better to save the discussion till mid november.
Still, a Skyhawk would be nice. I bet it would fit in a 21C box! :D
