Awesome! It shouldn't be too long now. Finally an affordable Dauntless in a scale larger than 1:72

Nice looking model but kinda pricey. I will wait until we have some reviews up here.

Sure would be nice to find them at retail. Probably no one is going to carry them though.
The best price I've seen so far is $39 at a few online stores.

I would love to see some pics. I decided to spend my August BCA money on the new 1/18 109. 8)

I've got a shipping notice as well, but I'll be out of town (actually up in Olifant's part of the country, courtesy of the US Army) when it arrives and won't be able to open it for a few days until I get back. Should be a neat plane, though 8)

I was in Galaxy Hobby in Lynnwood WA today and saw that they had a stack of about 6 or 7 of them getting ready to go out on the shelves. They weren't price marked yet, and I didn't think to ask how much as I couldn't afford to buy anything this week anyway, but it's a good sign that brick and mortar stores are carrying them.

BTW, the detail looked really nice and I liked the weathering, especially the exhaust stains and such.

Maybe you should take up collecting toy horses - there must be lots of places to buy that stuff where you are.

Need Pics! I am very interested in a review of the pilot and gunner figures. Will they be accurately scaled or will they look like Hobby Master's emaciated midgets? :?

I have a feeling the crew figures on this model will be nice. BBI in my opinion, makes the best pilot figures out there.

The Bad Cat site has some new pictures of the BBI 32nd scale Dauntless, and it is a beauty! Another super model from BBI! :D

The badcat pics don't give a good angle on the size of the pilot but it does give one piece of info,"The rear gunner is actually only half a figure and he won't fit in the plane with the included rear canopy in the closed (non-combat) position."!!! ? Looks like some custom work might be in order. The C21 corsair pilots are pretty good.

As for size, the dauntless is a fairly small plane (viewed one in person at the Palm Springs Air Museum next to a Hellcat, Wildcat, Avenger, etc) and taller pilots had to duck or slouch down when the canopy was closed.

I hope a half a gunner is the only shortcoming  of this model.
