sherman dozer paint scheme

for what theatre/time period is the sherman dozer's two tone paint scheme appropriate?

that two tone paint scheme was seen in Normandy? It looks like a Pacific scheme to me..

* Pacific scheme would've been a lighter color w/ brown or tan like that of 1:18's "COED 40" .

but was it painted in that colour in europe or just sicily/italy?

US Army camouflage was dictated by the conditions and the using units, but unlike the Germans who issued tins of paint and had the users paint their vehicles, the US Army had the spray equipment issued to Engineer Camouflage Battalions. One cannot say that a particular schemes goes to a particular theater.
The Corps of Engineers had a series of standard colors available. Vehicles left the factory in standard olive drab and were to be camouflaged, if required, in the field.
During the Normandy campaign the US First Army issued orders for all combat vehicles to receive pattern painting of black over olive drab. Many of these vehicles were described in B&W photos as "brown over OD", but in the last few years it has been realized that the MOST COMMON pattern was black over OD. There is no equivalent order seen from Third Army, Seventh Army or Ninth Army, but most photos seem to indicate black over OD or just plain OD.

Excellent answer. I have a couple books, "Weapons of The Tankers" being one of them that shows a M4 in Italy with a dozer blade. This tank has what appears to be black , front to back, slant stripes about three feet wide over OD. It is a 1st AD tank. The one shot they have of a dozer tank in Normandy has the same camo as the 21st model, but very faint due to accumulated road dust...
