For those of you who are the proud owners of the new 21st Century 1/32 spitfire, would some one please post a review with pictures?
Thanks.

Found one in decent shape at WM. Really like it. Sorry for the grainy pic, took it last night and with a flash it looked even worse. Any way - nice plane, paint's good, like the option to display with cockpit door open (as in pic) or closed - overall, very pleased for 15 bucks! Will try to take better pics soon.

Good picture and very neat plane. Sure makes the FOV version look like junk. Hopefully these will go to the small retailers sometime soon. I'm sure they won't be in any Wal Marts in the western states for at least 3-4 months.

I think we have a couple of truckloads of ME109s to go through before we see the Spits TMan...

That is a very logical conclusion and is already the case in my area. They got through the first batch at some stores between March and June, then restocked twice as many

RAF Mustangs here.. I just didn't know we had so many RAF fans in my area.

Consider yourself lucky. I haven't seen the RAF Mustang or any FW190s except the S1, and precious few at that.

Don't loose hope just yet... Today I found a single RAF Mustang and "Red 19" FW-190A at a local Wal Mart. They're finally getting around

Score! Thanks Tman. On the down side I am away from work at a conference and I was so happy to have a chance to hit WMs and Targets I normally don't get to. Nada here, except I finally found a second IJ truck at a Target.
I am keeping my chin up though for when I leave on Friday I will go a different route home and try out some other stores.

Found the Spit Mark II today. Just like the picture. Very nice, but a couple of small gripes and one question.
First, there are small holes all over the bottom of the wings. Obviously these are intended for ordinance etc on future versions, but it is tacky to offer this model with holes like these. Second, the darned canopy on mine has no ability to stay on at all. I have already grown frustrated and simply installed it permanently with a little glue. But, come on! I have had canopies that did not have a lot of grip before, but this one had no grip at all... zero. zilch. Disappointing. I hope these problems are fixed on the Mark V.
Lastly, the first pictures we got from Toy Fair showed a model from one of the Eagle Squadrons, flown by William Dunn, and 21C claimed this would be S2.

But the one I have is that same model and clearly labeled S1. What gives?

If your Spit is like mine the holes on the underside of the wing are the ejection chutes for shell casings from the guns. The canopy does just set in place and doesn't snap. This is a minor issue that can easily be over looked at the $15-$20 price point these retail for at WM and TRU.

Thanks for the info. How does the landing gear look extended? are the wheel wells detailed?
Also, for those canopies that don't stay on / shut I recommend glue dots. They work great and are not permanent. You can find them at any crafts store.

The gear looks good extended, but the wells are not detailed. The gear swings up and down smootly and feels sturdy.

Although I don't have the 32x Spitfire (and don't plan on seeing one at mass retail in my area for at least three months) I would guess the canopy is a bit like that on the 32x P-51B/Cs with the Malcolm hood...
On that plane, I was able to get the canopy to stay in place by gluing two small rubber pads (cut from a rubber band) to the sides of the canopy. The pads had to be thin enough to be hidden by the canopy framing. This procedure worked very well on my P-51s and I imagine it would also work on the 32x Spitfire

Same is true with the 32nd scale Corsair model. The canopy does not stay, I just place it where I want it and display the model like that.

Thanks for the info! I stand thoroughly embarrassed!
Still, I disagree about the canopy. I believe if it should not fall off, even at this price point. None the less, I am very pleased with the model overall.

Found the Spitfire at the Walmart on Allen Road in Peoria and Morton, Illinois today. 4 at Peoria and 2 at morton. Out of the six, two were decent. There were glue smears and paint rubs on the four. One had so much glue on the canopy it was fogged!

Sounds typical you finally find some and they are all screwed up.

Haven't seen any Spits here in Albuquerque yet.
Is this in the next wave or case of planes, after the FW-190 Red 19 and the RAF Sharktooth Mustang D?
Are they supposed to ship with the Desert FW-190 White 1 ?
Another plane I want.
