Hobby Master 1/72 Steve Ritchie F-4D Phantom II

Post by dragon53 » Sat May 31, 2008 4:49 pm

Here are Badcat and Flyingmule photos of Hobby Master's upcoming 1/72 Steve Ritchie F-4D Phantom II and a photo of the real thing. Notice Hobby Master's model lacks the clear canopy section between the two pilots' canopies and other differences.

The 5 MiG-21 kill stars aren't properly aligned compared to the real F-4D in the photo.

The "real" F4-D in the pic isn't Ritchies, its a replica.

Here is the real deal:

My apologies to Hobby Master. It appears that 21st's 1/18 Ritchie F-4D won't be released, so Hobby Master's is an alternative.

Badcat has sold out its pre-order of the Ritchie F-4D, "This F-4 vanished almost immediately from the manufacturer's order forms as "brisk sales" would be a dramatic understatement."

If there was an 1/18 or 1/32 PLASTIC Ritchie F-4D, I assume the sales results would be similar.

Agreed. This is easily one of the most recognizable Phantoms EVER. :D I just wish we could finally see the day where we could hold in our hands that monster piece of plastic in 1:18...

Hey, don't worry. 21st Century will come out with an 18th scale F-4 Phantom. I bet you 89 dollars they will. :D
