guys...if you thought about selling your Pershings now and make a killing on Ebay...this is the time to do it

Been there...done that...about two months ago... hated to part with it, but it brought me nearly $200, and with the news of a new release coming I don't feel so bad..

I was hoping they would represent a Korean war era Pershing. Not sure how the paint job would be different though. Didn't they use some kind of glossy dark olive in the 50's?

Oh well, I sold mine for big bucks on Ebay last year and I was hoping to get another to keep. ...Maybe I'll get two this time.

It's about time too. The Pershing is one of the most beautiful 1/32 out there. That texturing..meowr.

If FOV decided to use the same time of olive drab, it would still be accurate. It's true that the Army used a darker shade of green olive drab during the immediate post war time and through the 50s, but after the tank has been in the field for a while, the olive drab color can change dramatically.

If they do a Korean War-era Pershing, they might do a USMC tank.

God, I hope they don't do those garish Tiger markings.

I'll second that! Anyhow, no matter what time period I will be buying one or two.

I have a Pershing and while it is nice, somehow it doesn't grab me as much as some of their other pieces do. Mine are all displayed so I couldn't get the $200 ebay price, but if I could have I would have put mine up for sale in a NY minute.

Now take their Challenger and we can talk...

Sounds good! I have only one Pershing, but its on display and I dont plan on selling it.

Did you say late next year. Thats a 1 1/2 years away. I think it would be prudent now days to be skeptical of a release date 6 months away, much less one 18 months away.

Good point, I suppose we'll have a while to wait and see what comes down the pike in 18 months...even then, you have to wonder what the price point will be...?? Given that the announced FOV 1/32 Elefant and Deuce and a Half truck are in the $50-$60 range, I think it's safe to say a newly minted Pershing would be at least that much, and possibly more. Oh well...It'll give me plenty of time to re-paint and weather my Hen Long Pershing..

Personally, I'd prefer a WWII era Pershing in a simple whitewashed winter camouflage scheme, say post Battle of the Bulge/ crossing of the Rhine. I'm of the opinion that a Korean War era version, with potentially a Tiger face on the front, wouldnt do as well in sales. I cite the Corgi Sherman as a similar example that performed poorly at retail.

I've got a video in colour of Pershing tanks in Germany just before the end of the war

I sold mine, and am quite happy I did, regardless of reissue or not. When price escalates dramatically on this stuff I re-evaluate my interest. I ask myself this question. "Would I spend over $200 to buy it now if I didn't have one?" If the answer is no, as it was, then I sell it. Personally, I am somewhat cheap. I really hate to spend more than $30 on anything in this hobby. Most of the items I have that started out expensive I did not acquire until I could find them on sale. I guess it's just personal taste.

Mitch.. is this the "tiger scheme" you guys are talking about...?? If so I don't think it's a Pershing strictly speaking, but an M46 Patton, I know they are pretty similar, but not exactly the same tank, the Patton being an "upgrade" of the Pershing. The pic came out my Osprey/New Vanguard book on the Pershing.

How many of us bought the 21C Chaffee model expecting to put a tiger in our tank only to be disappointed?

Mitch, sorry but I have to agree that scheme is too garish for me. I bet it would make a great custom paint though.

If FOV is going to re-release the Pershing, that is to say an M26, it won't have a tiger face like that painted on it... at least not if it's gonna be accurate.
