New tooling 1/32 plane

Here is an extract from the BCA blog written on Wednesday. I did not notice it until today:

The remaining 2/3rds is behind the camera, still under renovation and being readied for large quantities of incoming merchandise. (Including a sweet 1:18 repaint and a new tooling 1:32 plastic model airplane that will be exclusive to the 'Cat in a deal finalized yesterday! We'll post pics and info in a few days.)

Could this be the arrival of the Spitfire? :D

Could be the new BBI F-104 in a special scheme that only Bad Cat will carry.

True.. It doesn't say anything about "who" is making it.. Could be the Spitfire, F-104, or Wildcat??

I would be surprised to see the BBI F-104 released before the Dauntless. Of course, anything can happen in our crazy hobby so who knows? I figure any new release is a happy event. :D

Assuming I'm interpreting the Badcat blog correctly, maybe the upcoming 1/18 repaint might be the Panther tank shown on the 21st website awhile back. Although, I hope it is a repaint of the old Spitfire with the Battle of Britain paint scheme intact---just with a new squadron number, etc.

That's "cambot" and it's shown from a mirror. :D

It's "Cambot" He is the only camera on the ship so he is filming himself in a mirror. :P

Just saw Alloy's post, he is correct! 8)

Latest news from the BCA blog quoting Bad Cat Rob:

Collectors are very cavalier and brave in making suggestions for unique and unproven military toys when their money or jobs are not at stake. After all, they want to see lots of new, unique stuff for their collection. But this enthusiasm is unrelated to however business decisions are made and all the social, business, and personal dynamics that take place in manufacturing and retailing. My latest 1:32 project will cost me $60K of my hard-earned money and I'm not a rich guy. You could drive past my tract home in my middle-class neighborhood and never look twice. If I'm wrong, it will be ugly, very ugly. I'm already taking a big risk, and I'm sure not going to reinvent the wheel and produce a Lysander.

To Steve: That's not tooling. That's how much I have to buy in order to get a six month exclusive. Current MOQs are about 3000 pieces but I won't say how many I ordered. And market research? What's that. I think they do very little. Heck, most deals in the <$250K range are done verbally over the phone without any signatures.

Here is my prediction: Bad Cat Exclusive 1/32 F-4 Phantom Steve Richie. 8)

I had to read it twice. I was all excited thinking about a Lysander in SOE markings. But, alas, it will more than likely be something we already know about.

OLIFANT:

I hope you're correct---my dream plane is a 1/32 Steve Ritchie F-4D---because the 21st 1/18 Ritchie F-4D may never be released and it's too big.

If a 1/32 Ritchie F-4D is released, it will be #1 on my must-buy list.

You know part of what he says is right, we as collectors do make forward suggestions and comments with nothing really to risk on out part. But on the other hand, we are the biggest supporter out there and buy these product in bulk sometimes compared to some grandfather buying a toy plane as a gift for his grandson's 6th birthday.

That would be great, and mine would get a Finnish repaint.

:D I am assuming you were joshing because the way I read this is there is no tooling, just a BCA repaint exclusive. I am guessing Phantom because this thing is dying for a repaint and BCA and BBI have a long history of working hand in hand. I know, I know they have done plenty of 21C repaints but somehow I'm not feeling it in my bones. 8)
