I picked up a couple of these modern figs at TRU and they are incredible: great sculpting, detail, and molding...they are a little on the large side compared to typical 1/32, but close enough to fit in with 21CT or FOV (definitely not K&C size)...and at $5 a pop they're also a little pricey for a plastic fig, but absolutely worth every penny...now please McFarlane, give us some WWII... :o

My TRU is just now getting in new stock so maybe I will spot some on the shelves. I know their big soldier figures are pretty wicked.

that's interesting because they're supposed to be 3 inch which is 1/24 scale. So if they're not k&c size they're nowhere close. Oh, and he is doing WWII starting this year...all US troops.

Re: they're supposed to be 3 inch...yeah, maybe they were designed by a carpenter who took his cue from the not quite exact dimensions of a 2x4... :) ...they're actually closer to 2 1/2 inches high... http://www.youbuynow.com/category/232 has some pix & descriptions of them, but pictures don't do justice...the USMC sniper, for instance, actually has a holster with a removable pistol...while no one was looking, McFarlane has notched up the standard for traditional scale toy soldiers...

I looked at these and they are nice, without doubt, but I just can't get behind modern stuff. Plus they would still look like giants next to most of my 1/32 from 21C and FOV not to mention my Dragon 1/35 guys. And for some of us, $5 per soldier is just too steep.
I will take a pass, at least until the WWII stuff comes around. Might take a second look then....
