Tuesday Morning Store Diecast finds

Worth checking out. Check the website to see if you have one in your area. I found a bunch of the larger Corgi Die cast toys including Panzer tanks, Battleships, Helicopters and more. I even found the scaled Master Replica items all for about 50%-75% off. I thought this was a girly store.

I've never heard of the place but using their locater it would seem I have one 12 miles from me. Huh. I will have to check it out but with how stuff generally runs down here they probably won't have crap.

Tuesday Morning is an excellent resource to pickup Corgi diecast. I first stumbled on Tuesday Morning about 6-7 years ago when I got word from another forum that Franklin Mint stores dumped alot of their stock into Tuesday Mornings, and I checked the 4-5 stores in the immediate area and ended up with 5 M1A1's (different camo schemes) 7 Humvees (different camo schemes) 1 Sherman several Helos, and 4 1/48 FM/Armour Aircraft.

Since then I regularly check the stores and will from time to time catch some great deals on Corgi diecast. Although with folks catching on quickly, you need to get there quickly as word gets around and folks don't hesitate to raid the stores.

What a coincidence Tambo! I went to TM this morning and bought up a bunch of Tactical Strike and 1/72 planes. $7 for the M-1s, M-3s and AH1, $4 for the troops and Humvess and $10 for the 1/72 AC. Great deals!

I am not really familiar with TS line and have a question: did they ever release the 1/64th Tomcat?

Checked mine and all it had were a couple Tactical Strike Hummers

Toy section was kinda junky, stuff piled everywhere with no rhyme or reason. Found a few of the Tactical Strike vehicles but they didn't appeal to me. There was a Corgi 1:72 Phantom that I would have snatched except it was missing the canopy and both rear landing gear. It was the type under a plastic dome. I dug around but the pieces were nowhere to be found.

Oh well, I'll try again in a month or so. I suspect the ladies would have better luck finding things they like as the store was full of decorative items and what not.

Yeah - the toy aisle at my store was a mess too. Dug around but only found a couple Hummers.

Went to 3 of my local stores.

All stores had the 1/64 Tactical Strike M1s, Humvees, Helicopters and soldiers. I didn't pick any up as I don't collect that scale.

1 store had 2 each of the 1/72 P-47 and Hurricane. I picked up one of each.

1 store had 3 1/700 scale ships, Missouri, Indianapolis, and Intrepid. I've never picked up ships before, but they were $9.99 each. They aren't the greatest in looks but I'll display them out in the open as I don't care if they get all dusty or not.

Cool. I'm glad a few of you found some stuff.....hey it's a new place and its a crap shot, but I think it's worth a look. I found a Nice 1/64 AH-6 littlebird that is from my unit...not accurate (wrong skids) but still nice to sit on my desk.

they had a ton of the Corgi 1/64 die-casts.. including:

Apache Longbow
Abrams tanks Army & Marines
HMMWV's
Bradleys
Infantry sets

they also had a bunch of Corgi Military Vehicles US60415
M3 Half-Track Diecast Model
US Army 25th AAA Btn, Korea, 1951
for $15 each not bad since they are over $50 on the tag.

Yes they did. I recall seeing it at Hamley's Toy Shop in 2005 - that was in London. I think they also made it stateside, but I don't remember them. But yes, it was released

Not much in my AO but the TS items. There was one set of small planes and tanks in one set for $19.99, not worth it for me.

i hit the one out by Rockwall off the highway between Dallas and lake ray Hubbard and they had, battleships, carriers, boats, the modern small crappy stuff, a1 p47 and 1 mustang. I left them there.

Decided to check a Tuesday Morning store that I discovered was along one of my Wal Mart/TRU/Target search routes. They had the Corgi Aviation Archive Blackhawk for $14 and 1:700 diecast models of the USS Essex and USS Indianiapolis for $10 each. I picked up the ships, though the Corgi helo was tempting itself

Does anyone know if the Corgi 1/64 (Tactical Strike) are true to scale. I saw an Abrams and Bradley at Tuesday Morning and they look pretty close to the FOV 1/72 sizewise. Has anyone done a side by side comparison?

I do have a Corgi "Tactical Strike" Abrams and a 1:72 FOV version. The Corgi tank is larger.

I coudn't resist. I had to go back and pick up all of the 1/700 ships they were offering. For $10 these look pretty sweet.

I was able to find the USS Intrepid and the USS Indianapolis. I know there was a USS New Jersey (or another Iowa-class battleship) in the series as well, but it wasn't at the store. Nice ships for the original $25 price and even nicer for the Tuesday Morning discount.

Here's a few pics of the two ships I found: the Essex-class aircraft carrier,USS Intrepid, and the Portland-class heavy crusier, USS Indianapolis:

Both are 1:700 scale and for what you get, really quite detailed. They are not fine precision models, but do feature alot of detail and are visually appealing. All the gun positions, radar and radio antennas, boats, liferafts, hatches, chains & cables, aircraft, and so on are sculpted on. The main turrets on the Indianapolis rotate and the guns elevate. The 5-inch guns on the Intrepid rotate. The hulls of both ships are diecast with the deck, superstructures, and other accessories being made of plastic. The aircraft on both ships are identifiable by type. For example, you can clearly distinguish the TBF Avengers, Hellcats, and Helldivers on the carrier.

The Gearbox Toys line of ships also featured the USS Hornet (complete with B-25s), the USS Arizona, and the battleships Missouri and New Jersey. The ships can be easily found on ebay.

Went to 2 Tuesday Mornings and found the 1/700 Hornet and New Jersey.

Also found a Corgi 1/72 UH-60A Blackhawk.

Both stores had the Corgi 1/64 Tactical Strike pieces.
