microsol vs testers decalset
microsol vs testers decalset
Some more puddin' stirring for you- I view the microsol as a little more than water or whatnot, the testors product actually seems to apply and even look like something with a purpose- sure the decal will apply no matter what, but I'm not sure what I spent several dollars on with the microsol
microsol, etc...
Some of the effectiveness of the decal setting solutions depend on the decal itself. Some companies use a VERY thin carrier film and some strong setting solutions can actually attack the decal. Personally I use Walthers Solvaset, which is a brand sold primarily for model railroad decals. It's easy to get and is a powerful solvent. On some really deicate decals I have to cut the Solvaset with water so it doesn't melt the decal into a colored blob. I haven't used the Testors brand. The Microsol and Microset are meant for use with the Microscale decal system. Many contest models have been, and still are, finished with the Microscale products.
