TKO has thrown us a bone; the next 1/32 release will be single engine. Which will it be? I have divided it up by country rather than individual airplane. Vote your conscience and make your guess...
I am hoping Russian but voting British

I would love a P-39. The FOV version does not cut it for me.

I don't even collect 1:32 planes and I think they should start releasing big Red birds!
For crying out loud, more Il-2s were built than any other aircraft in the history of the world.

A Spitfire would be very cool - but I would also welcome the P-38 (long overdue) and an Avenger would just rock

So now that you've voted care to take a guess at the bird? I am going out on a limb and say it will be a British Spitfire. I know both FOV and Corgi make one but I think 21C knows these will sell, and can make them in plenty of different models and schemes. The only thing with British birds is they really didn't color their birds up. Besides mid-war camo changes, different letter signs, invasion stripes and the occasional small personal/unit crest insignia there isn't the wide variety you would find with US or German birds.

I went Russian. Yak-3s just seem so, needed? The paint schemes are pretty wide too. I really just want to see a red star on a WWII plane for once.
P39Time, that WOULD be awesome!

Too bad the FOV P-39 is a POS, it would have made for a great Soviet Lend-Leaser!

While I would love me some Brits, I have a hard time seeing 21st putting them out. I say we will see an American issue to counter act the butcherbird.

Q, what is your guess then?
With the exception of the Lightning (which we know won't come out next) all of the main AAF fighters have been released. I can only think of naval air and the Aircobra and I doubt there was much A vs. A against FWs. One other possibility would be a retooled Jug or P-40.
TKO, I feel like we need another hint. How about radial or in-line engined? C'mon, Roy will never know.

Hmmm... you're right Olifant. TKO, radial or inline? How many cylinders? How many blades on the prop? Single seat or double? Retractable tailgear or not? How many wing-mounted guns and cowling mounted guns total? American, British, Russian, German, Italian or French?
...you know me, just trying to keep it as vague as possible...

Modified questions: How many blades - two or three? Open or closed cockpit? High-wing or low-wing? Retractable main gear or not? Polish? If: two-blade prop, open cockpit, high-wing, not retractable gear and Polish, it will be a PZL P.11c! If low-wing and closed cockpit - a PZL-23 Karas. Well, I know it's rather impossible. It will be really a Spitfire with Polish markings.

I'd really like to see a 1/48 P-38 because it would fit in with my 1/50 Corgi tanks (and 1/48 21stC) that match up very well with my cubic yard of Warhammer 40,000 Space Marines....

Olifant, you're right, the British camo was monotonous, generally. However, there were differences. The brown/green scheme could exist with black prop spinner (Battle of Britain) or with the sky one and the sky stripe on the fuselage. The bottom surface of the whole plane could be sky or with black port wing (before and shortly after the Battle). The green-gray planes could have not only black and white Normandy stripes but the white stripes on the engine, used at Dieppe (1942). 1944/45 they had black spinners and no stripes on the fuselage again. We have to remember that the fighters like Spitfire and Hurricane were used in North Africa (great brown and sand camo with red spinners - the example: Spitfires from the Polish Fighting Team - "The Skalski's Circus") and in Far East with other camos and roundels. Finally, there were British fighters with American, Finnish and Soviet markings. The 21st CT will have much work to do. On the other hand, the 21st could make whole squadrons and sell them cheaper. They would look great on the floors or under the ceilings in our flats...

DO a Spit V. Machine guns only, 2 cannon, 4 cannon, grey/green, two tone brown, full wings, clipped wings. Lots of easy options. And how could we get this far in and NOT have a Spit, just boggles.

It's probably wrong for a modern guy like myself to wish for, oh, say, a F-16? Or really out there, a F-20?
You just said it was single engined right? Maybe a Mig 27?
C'mon, throw me a bone here... It's always WWII, never anything modern...

I'd like a Spitfire MK XIV with the Griffon engine plus 5 blade prop. Maybe even with the cut down rear fuselage and teardrop canopy. Everyone and their brother does earlier model Spits.
