IXO Screams, "Bombs Away!"
Working from a pre-existing range of Altaya aircraft, IXO Models will soon be rolling out their 1:144 scale "heavies" for 2008. While pricing is still sketchy, and we expect they'll retail for around $30 apiece, the new range of multi-engine bombers, seaplanes, transports and other rarities can be ogled on the french Altaya web site, which can be found here.

News Update: We've received a preliminary list of aircraft expected within the first eight months of 2008. Due out in staggered shipments will be a Mitsubishi G4M1 "Betty" Type 1 medium bomber, Arado Ar 234C Blitz bomber, Boeing B-29 Superfortress heavy bomber, Junkers JU 88A-4 medium bomber, Short Stirling B I/III medium bomber, Junkers Ju 52/3M transport, Piaggio P.108 heavy bomber, Blohm & Voss BV-222 "Wiking" flying boat, Martin B-26 B/C Marauder bomber, Douglas C-47 Skytrain transport, Petlyakov PE-8 heavy bomber, Savoia-Marchetti SM 79 Sparviero medium bomber, Douglas C-54/R5D Skymaster transport, Junkers Ju 188 A1/E1 medium bomber, Fiat BR.20 Cicogna medium bomber, and Martin PBM Mariner flying boat. Whew, quite the list, with more planes added to the list as we move forward....[posted 1/11/2008]

I've been told the Arado Ar 234C Blitz bomber is going to be 1/72 scale & it is a free gift by IXO :?:

I would like a 1:32 SM 79, those are pretty cool.

uksubs? As in... U.K. Subs, the band?! :)

One of my favorite punk bands. Love the old stuff.

If it has nothing to do with them, then pardon my mention.

Hi,
According to our info, the 1:72 scale version is a giveaway for the Altaya range. The smaller, 1:144 version will be sold like the rest of the IXO line.
