I noticed the new BBI F-4J Phantom II is no longer on Badcat's website. I assume they've temporarily sold out since it is very popular ...or it's a technical glitch.

They probably sold out  My local Hobbytown store, to cite another example, got in about 8 Phantoms about three weeks ago just before Christmas. There's only one left now!

I hope Badcat has sold out of the F-4Js and relays this to BBI so that BBI realizes the F-4 is a hot-selling product. That would spur BBI to release more versions of the F-4 such as the F-4D and F-4E.

Don't count on it.

VMF115:

BBi has repaints for its P-51, F6F, F4U, Zero, etc...so why not more versions of the apparently hot-selling Phantom?

Yes, more F-4J repaints please! :D

True, they have repaints. but they don't have different versions of the p-51, f64, f4u, zero, ect. Any thing more then paint,,you can count on bbi not to offer it. It might dip in to their overhead

I agree.. I don't expect to see a different version of the Phantom anytime soon, only a few more repaints of the existing bird..

VMF115:

I see your point, but I hope you're wrong.
At least that means there might be a Duke Cunningham F-4J.

Also, that brings up the alternative---the 21st Century 1/18 Steve Ritchie F-4D...

I do know 21st has said they are also coming out with a 1:32 scale one also. You might have to wait.

You're right about the 21st Century 1/32 Phantom....I forgot about that.
It'll probably arrive at the same time as their 1/18 Phantom.

VMF115:

Getting back to the BBI Phantom, it's too bad their business model or economics won't allow variations of one mold. 21st Century appears to be doing well with 1/32 versions of their P-51 in P-51B/C and P-51D, etc....

As VMF115 posted elsewhere, the Motorpool.com said on Jan. 8 that the 21st Century 1/18 Steve Ritchie F-4D Phantom will be released in March.

Earlier, I saw that Motorpool.com had an $89.99 pre-order price, but now no price is mentioned.

MotorPool also has the Mig down for pre-order @ $89, w/both F-4 and Mig available in 3/08.

Would love for both to be true, but I certainly have my doubts.

Wow, that's weird! Do they know something that no one else seems to know? They also have the 21C Mig 21 up for preorder.

Has anyone bothered to contact them to find out if this is the real deal? Or, is this old info from last TF that has not been updated?

No disrespect meant to TMP or AT, but hasn't the 1/18 Dauntless been up for preorder for almost a year? I am slow to believe that we will really see these in March.

Please please please tell me I'm wrong.
