Small Scale Military Headquarters

Went to TRU for a few last minute gifts for my daughter when kinda wandered into the toy soldier aisle "by accident" and noticed two 32x playsets I never noticed before. One was "Tunisia" with a Stuart repaint adn the other was "Kursk" with a panther repaint.
Didn't pick any up but I plan on hitting it up again tomorrow "solo"

Sound like they're new playsets! TRU is certainly getting in alot of best new goodies as of late

Help me out fellas, I had a long week at work and too many paint fumes from model assembly tonight. Didn't the Tunisa playset come out a while ago? I know there was one with a Stuart repaint but can't remember if it was titled Tunisa. Or was Tunisa with the Warhawk or mediteranean 109 and the Stuart was titled for some island invasion?

I have CRS around 1/32. I used to remember everything about them but no longer. They are all over the house, overflowing from closets, poking out from under the bed and turning up in the damndest places. The other day I found the FOV Zundapp in a keepsake box. Not only do I not remember putting it there but I don't remember where it came from. 30 years from now how am I supposed to keep track of my teeth?

I think what your talking about is the "Kasserine Pass" playset.

Ok went back and bought both sets. They are "Defeat the East- Kursk" and 'Operation Torch -Tunisia" I am working on the pics, give me a few minutes young paduans !!

I think I like the looks of the FOV Stuart better for this part of the war. The new Panther looks great though. Thanks for thinking of us and getting pics up Flak Happy.

They look good! Could use those DAK motor guys, but to bad they just didnt do playsets with the panzer 38t and MarderIII.

Wouldn't mind a Panther, that one was out well before I got into 32x.

As for the hedge cutters, maybe they intended to literally mow down some German infantry?

I wouldn't mind that Panther either - it looks like it has been adequately weathered. Too bad it's a chinned late-model Panther Ausf G, not one of those never-modeled in pre-built Panther Ausf Ds

The Kursk set looks pretty nice, even if it is basically a repackaged group of previously released items. The paint scheme on the Panther looks new, although similar to one of the earlier paint jobs. Two things stand out on the Panther... the red turret number, I believe this is new... and the brownish rust effects on the tracks and tow cables etc, I think these look quite good. I can't quite make out the unit insignia on the front hull glacis, if I could get a clearer look at it I can probably identify the unit the tank was assigned to.

Never noticed it before, but don't the German figures in the Torch set look totally out of scale with the tank. May just be the camera angle. Didn't the British use the Stuart in the tan paint scheme in North Africa? Take off the American flag and it might look good with the the British soldiers.

The unit marking appears to be a Centaur with a spear.

Are the Afrika Korps guys ( with the Stuart) new molds, or German molded in tan?

They are the same troops and accessories that come in the German mortar pit set, just this time they are painted in DAK colors.
