today I found the bormski yellow 4 109f in a batch of two with two grey-green zeros, knowing the shipment was new, I looked a little closer at the zero. This one had v103 on tail in black lettering and no sticker describing squadron, year, pilot on the box's protective plastic- is this the same one in the hog/zero dogfight kit?

No it is not. The dogfight Zero is green with the number "183" on the tail in red lettering; it is also the A6M3 variant. The particular plane you found is an A6M2 and has been attributed to being a plane flown by the Japanese ace Saburo Sakai (SP?), though it may not be. Models I've seen of his plane had differing numbers...

Still waiting for the 1:144 Zeros either single or in the Dogfight pack

I like the sound of the single Zeros, though, as I don't need any more 1:144 Hellcats

Saw the 109 again today at a different Walmart. Sorry I was mistaken, it was 3 not 8. The info said pilot unknown, Libya. Can't remember the year. Planning on picking up one tomorrow. Also, the 3 is red trimmed in black, but the box called it black 3.

I saw a couple of these same plane at one of my local Wal Marts as well today! I guess it could be identified as "Black 3." The plane sports a very interesting paintscheme, but its really too bad its on the old ME-109E mould. I can do without it.

Scored again!
Found the new 1/144 Zero singles, A6M2 and A6M3 at a WM here in North Dallas. They are sweet! I am thinking of buy the whole box and doing a Pacific dio!

DAK and Italian troops

Post by bboc » Fri Sep 21, 2007 4:47 pm

The DAK and Italian troops showed up at TRU in Glen Burnie, MD. THey had FoV stuff there too, 1/72 stuff also. Don't know if the new Shermans and Tigers had been there, but the amount of empty space looks like they may have been.

Ebay isn't exactly in my AO bit I thought someone might be interested in this 1:72 B-36 bomber kit. I built one as a kid and it was huge!

Hey, that's pretty dang cool. I'd buy one of those in 1/18.

I also picked up the new Folgore/Stuka Dogfight pack. I love the Folgore but I will probably sell the Stuka.

I picked up a good looking winter scheme 109F Russian Front 1942 plane today. I hadn't heard about this scheme but it looks good.
