I came across one of the best Wal Mart finds I'd seen in a while. The store in Madera, CA, just a little north of me, had the 32x Dogfight packs and Iron Horse packs. In addition, they also had the new 1:48 and 1:144 scale 21c planes!! I stood there in the aisle for a good 20 minutes deciding what to get and walked out with the Dogfight pack and 3 of the 1:144 planes.
The 1:48 scale aircraft look great and have excellent paintschemes, but I don't need another scale to get into.
They also had a big empty space on the shelf with an Avenger price tag. The plane may not have come in yet, but its the closest sighting to my area!
All in all, this one Wal Mart has a far better selection in general than any of the four Wal Marts in my hometown. Wierd.

I also came across the Dogfighting combo and both Iron Horseman sets, also 1/18 US Patton Tank and M151 Jeep. I purchase same and added to my collection. I am still searching for 1/18 Avenger. I was hoping Badcat would sell same.

Starman, where are you at in California? I just found the 1:144 planes, the 1:48 planes, and the combo packs at the store in Madera, just north of where I live. From what I can tell, Wal Mart stores with similar selections tend to get the same stuff, despite being in other towns.

Found 1:144 P-51's, ME-262's, KI-84's, and Hellcats at the Dover WM. At $3.85, they're a bit too steep for me.....

Mt Airy WM had the 32X German 7.5cm IG.18 Cannon and Crew sets. These are a must have for 32X fans, a ready made small scale diorama, and represent a superb value at $9.97 plus tax IMO. This little gem of a set is an excellent example of how far we have come in terms of quality versus price in a pre built model, and a testament to 21st Century's commitment to our growing hobby.

Checked out Mt Airy and they also had the 1/144 ac, two of the 48th P51's, and the dogfight twin packs. If you come across the 1/144 be sure to check 'em out first, I noticed missing/broken landing gears on several of the ac. I picked up one of each (4) and both the 48th P51's and one of the dogfight packs (left 4-5 on the shelves) and picked up two of the Cannon and Crew sets, a "Must Have" as mentioned previously.

I found 1/144 scale planes at Wallyworld at $3.24 each. I bought a box. They also had the 1/144 scale tanks on sale for $1.00. I bought a ton of the them.

Sound like some potentially good sets. Please give us some more details, however! I'm glad to see 21c re-releasing some of their old vehicle makes in recent sets - like the Tiger, M-18, SDK-222, Hannomag, M-5, etc. Those were great pieces, especially for the first of a run.

Hmm... Not bad. That quad 20mm gun looks like it came from one of the German AA tanks, but it is still cool. I like the fact that the "Stalingrad" set makes use of the new Russian figures. Did the Pacific set come with Japanese figures? 21c is really cranking out the 32x playsets, aircraft and tanks as of late
