Hi Hanomag,
Many thanks for your input and the images. We were supposed to wait until Toy Fair to get this information but it looks like you got the jump on all of us!
Uksubs, I'm not going to defend any of the manufacturers since they can do that themselves. That said, sometimes you see duplication of effort in the marketplace cause one company will have already invested heavily in research and design plus make a pre-pro mold without knowing that a competitor is doing likewise. While an item can be pulled from their lineup once they learn of a similar effort, thats often difficult to do cause they still have to announce something and dont have the time to come up with something else so quickly. Moreover, they have to be practical about what they choose to replicate. I mean, how many people are going to buy an unheard of military vehicle versus one you see all the time on the military documentaries?
Lastly, many collectors arent always happy with one manufacturer's work, and dont mind waiting for another manufacturer to model the same weapons platform. On another forum, a few members arent happy with FM's P-51 Mustang and they'd prefer to see another manufacturer come along and make a more true-to-life model.

Seeing Red
Good point Aferguson. Maybe its supposed to be a British beachmaster?
It could also be a case where the real figures werent available yet for the catalogue pix, so they opened up a pack of their 1:72 British Airborne and used them instead. Just a guess....

Re: FOV 2007 Offerings
Many thanks, Hanomag, I've been looking for pics on the Web off and on all day. The German prime mover looks fantastic. One question, if I may... Does the catalog list a repaint of the 88? I've been holding out for a camo version.

88mm gun
Hi,
If I might interject, now that they have a proper prime mover to go with their 88, it would make sense at some point to offer the 88mm again in the same scheme as the new prime mover. My guess is that its in the offing since they have the tooling done and merely have to repaint the gun. I think the troops could remain the same...
The Stuart looks exceptional and the Lee will do equally well. Be nice to see even more new vehicles considering there wasnt much in the way of new stuff introduced last year...

Sorry Jagdplastic, they don't have a repaint of the 88 listed. However it is a safe bet that one will show up. The other repaints can be found at various webstores so not really new info. I would say you can bank on a repainted 88 sometime, after all they make 4 Tigers, King Tigers and Schwimmwagens.
As much as I would like to see more new molds, I'd also like to see more modified molds like Grant/Lee or Prime Mover. Lord knows I'd love to see a Sherman Calliope, or Flail, or DD. Not to mention some of the 1/72 make it's way to 1/32..*cough-Churchill-cough*.

The 1/32nd Lee an Grant are already at Target
The "Target grade" are in bad need of some decent weathering and a dullcoat, but for under $20.00USD, that's cheaper than a plastic model!

I received my 2007 catalog today and was all prepared to go on a scanning spree. Unfortunately, my scanner decided to bite the dust during the first scan.
Anyway, I was delighted by the 2 posters that were sent along with the catalog. I didn't know they were even available. They measure 23 x 16½. One shows the B-25J Mitchell, the other shows the German Tiger 1.
