NEW FOV
A while back(mid-october), when I was hunting for the then newly released 1:32 four star miliary line I came across some 1:32 modern figures in ACU camo, I wanna say there were 2 different sets of 3 or 4 guys. I don't know if these are any news to anyone, I'm a WWII enthusiast so I don't really keep up with the modern stuff all too much.

I think it was 1/48 and plastic. I had the 1/48 diecast Apache and the size was about the same as the Blackhawk I saw at Target. It was in the same size box as the Stryker and the P-51 with it's wings off. 1/32 Blackhawk would be over 1.5ft long, correct?

Found all the new FOV 1:32 and 1:18 products today at one of my local Targets, and there are more stores in my area getting ready to also stock the new products!
The store I visited had the Stryker, M1 Abrams, M2 Bradley, and the M109 Paladin. It is sort of funny as within the past month at Target stores in my area, I've seen the Enthusiast versions of the same M1 and M2 as the Bravo Team line, as well as the action grade version of the Paladin. Of course, the old FOV versions were far superior with more opening hatches, better sculpting, etc.
However, I do really like the Stryker. It is the most unique of the new vehicles

The Black Hawk is definitely 1:48.
No luck on the 1:32 vehicles, I talked to the employee and he said they are still unpackaging and loading the vehicles on the shelf.
The 1:32 soldiers aren't that great. It's basically a 2 pack with some weapons and small diorama piece like a box of bottles or a dog. The soldiers and marines are re-releases of the 1st Marine Divison Gulf War set, 36th Infantry Regiment OIF set, and a 2 pack of modern tank commanders.
I'll post up pictures of my expedition in a few hours.

The "Forces of Valor" name has been dropped, its all "Bravo Team" now. Some pics are blurry, I'm still trying to get the hang of my new camera.
Pics:
1:32 2-Pack Soldier Sets

Aircraft:

Only bought the 2-pack U.S. Tank Commander set, as that was the only thing worth getting. The Commander with the left hand holding his helmet headset is from the LAV-25, while the other guy with both hands out is from the MLRS.

Looks like quality is going down, but new releases going up! I look forward to finding a Stryker or two. Or four maybe.
Cool that they are doing commander figures in two packs. Price anyone?

From what I take it, FOV realized that the 1:18 vehicles were to much of a good deal when they were first released and decided to lower the quality of the 1:32 vehicles. For example, the medium box 1:18 Shermans and Bradleys were $19.99 while the big box 1:32 vehicles were $24.99. Most consumers would pick the cheaper, bigger 1:18 tanks over the small, pricier 1:32 tanks. Leading to the change in quality in 1:32 and price I suppose.olifant wrote:Looks like quality is going down, but new releases going up! I look forward to finding a Stryker or two. Or four maybe.

Two Pack soldier sets at $4.99
1:32 Aircrafts $19.99
1:32 Vehicles $19.99
I'm be getting pics of the vehicles tomorrow and hopefully buy the 1:32 Stryker too..

I just found the Stryker at my Target store and I was thoroughly disappointed. One word - CHEAP.
They also had the 1:32 scale M1 Abrams, Bradley and Paladin packaged in the same Bravo Team box and they were ALL PLASTIC. Either Unimax has discontinued the Action Series line altogether or producing plastic versions for the Bravo Team line.

Are the Abrams, Bradley and Paladin new molds? Thanks for the pricing Skyray!Ziegler2112 wrote:I just found the Stryker at my Target store and I was thoroughly disappointed. One word - CHEAP.

This I'm not so sure about. I went scouting today, and saw a new Paladin and new Bradley. They're sure not the same. They appear to be all plastic, and seem to have suffered some in the change. Are they new molds? I can't say for certain. Maybe the downturn is just what happens if you try to cast plastic in a mold meant for metal, but either way, while the vehicles have been done before, these new plastic versions aren't the same.Ziegler2112 wrote: No. The Abrams and Bradley molds were introduced in 2003. The Paladin in 2006.
Oddly enough if was just this bit of doing that caused me to expand my "just dropping by a nearby Target" to a full-fledged, two-towned, three Target and one Toys'R'Us, scouting trip. I found the new items, soldier twin packs and Bravo Team vehicles) at the first stop (Visalia's new northside Target for those keeping track at home), but was so dissapointed by the quality that I set out to see if I could still find any of the old ones before they were gone. I went to Visalia's older, southern Target and found the previous version soldiers hanging patiently in their blister packs, awaiting any sort of 1:32 vehicle to show up. Then I went on to Tulare's Super Target where I found the new Bravo Team 1:32 vehicles, but just two blister packs of soldiers, none of the new twin packs. And finally, on the way back home, a stop at TRU, just to confirm that year 2006 is still alive and well, should I ever need to revisit it.
So, all-in-all, it looked about like this, with minor variations since Google doesn't know that new roads have been opened:
ROUTE (bonus, if you use street view, you'll even be able to see a pic of the vehicle I used to do it)
Which, since "A" is work and "F" is home, was a bit more than stopping by on the way home (even "B" was a stretch...), I felt it was worth doing. I just wish I had better luck finding things I wanted to but. I was really hoping that the enthusiast Bradleys I'd seen in Tulare two weeks ago would still be there, and that I could get them for the new, lower, Bravo Team price. But alas, it was not to be. I'm just worried that this means Action Series vehicles are going to get hard to find and I'll be forced to buy the more expensive (and not quite worth it in my opinion) Enthusiast versions online. Good thing I already have most everything I want!

Who says the new 1:32 scale Bravo Team vehicles are not cool?

At least the Stryker and the M1 Abrams look pretty darn good to me
The Stryker is the best of the new assortment in terms of its sculpting. The M1 is really just a plastic version of the old FOV model. The Bradley and Paladin are the same, yet as Ruger noted, they have even fewer moving parts and all-around less detail.

Went Target hopping today, no luck getting the Stryker, wasn't a total loss through, I did find one lone 1:32 Bravo Team Bradley on shelf and bought it. Also lucked out and found a pair of surviving Marder III and IIIM at a Wal-Mart.
Since there's been questions about the P-51 Mustang, I went to one Target and took some better quality pictures to help out. I also realized why my pictures turned up blurry, I forgot to turn on the Macro mode.
Indeed, the engine hatch has been deleted, the cockpit also looks like it has been molded in as I don't see a slide section for the cockpit hatch to recline. Hope the pics help everyone.

After taking it out of the box and carefully examining it, the new Bravo Team Bradley I picked up is definitely all 100% plastic. Heck, the Bradley is exactly like a scaled down 1:18 Bradley, they both have no hinge bracket support (I don't know the correct name) for the Bushmaster chain gun, hollow opening in the back of the TOW and non-deployable TOW system.

I'll see if I can try to post out of the box pictures and comparision pictures with the ODS Bradley, woodland camo Bradley, and the Enthusiast OIF Bradley I have.

Thanks for the pics Tman. It does look to me like these are new molds scaled down from the 1/18 versions. If to get new 1/18 scale we must endure worsened quality in the 1/32 market, I say go for it.
This means a new line for FOV in 1/32 and does not necessarily mean their old line dies. In fact, why would they bother with their recent new releases if this is the case. And remember, Bravo team is a Target exclusive.
Plus I have PLENTY of 1/32 FOV stuff already. Muhahahahaha!

You're welcome on the photos. The new products, in many ways, are not that bad. As I said, the Stryker is actually sculpted quite well, as is the Abrams. I was a little less impressed with the Bradley and Paladin. I find it ironic as the Targets in my area just had the FOV Enthusiast M1 Abrams, Enthusiast Bradley and Action-grade Paladin in before the holidays, and now they have cheaper versions of the same tank made by the same company.
"If you fail to plan, you plan to fail."
So T-man, you're saying all those older M1's are gone now? Dang, upon seeing the new scheme of things, I was going to see if you could pick me up of those...
Bummer.
I guess it will be a lot more difficult to round out my second platoon of M1's now, and getting enough Bradleys for all the accompanying infantry will suffer as well. Maybe I could pass them off in the background, but I'm not excited about that idea.

Does anyone know if the FOV 1/32 M60 Patton spotted recently in Target is the old diecast M60 (photo below) or a new mold?
