Re: Siler City, NC Walmart Recon
I keep hearing about the WASP 109... can someone steer me to a picture of it?Jagdplastic wrote:I found the 1/32 Wasp 109, 1/32 black Thunderbolt, and 1/32 Ridge Runner (I think) P-51 in the newly moved toy section (now at the back). I also found four 1/18th Ridge Runners in the clearance section (in garden area) as well. I left them all. They also had two PIV D's. The pickins were especially slim this go-around. Usually they have quite a number of 21st Century items.

hworth,
Thanks.... that looks like a must have. I didn't see it at BadCat. These are showing up at Wal-Mart?
I've sort of stopped doing the 1:18 scale. I don't have the room to display them. These 1:32nd are looking better all the time and getting a lot more variety as well. Sure wish they'd do a Bf110 !

Tman is correct that this is just a model mockup of the paint scheme, but the actual planes scheme is very close to this...Jagdflieger wrote:hworth,

I spotted the Macchi C.205 Veltro and the A6M3 Zeros at a Wal Mart in Fresno, CA. I was not impressed with the paintscheme for the Veltro (green striped with Italian Flag), but I picked up a Zero. The faded weathering on the version I got was done quite well!
I want to get another Macchi, but will have to wait for another paintscheme to show. Nonetheless, good job on the part of 21c for getting the new products out!

Put my S1 (Green) Zero together last night, had a hard time getting the fuselage to fit in the wings. Took a little, filing, trimming, pushing and pulling to get it to look right. I got it to work, and it looks good. This was the hardest fitting Xtreme Wings I've ever run into, anyone else have fit problems with thier Zeke?

You know, it was the weirdest damn thing, at the exact time I became exasperated and looked for something to cut, sand, grind, force, or whatever the fusalage and wings together, it suddenly went together as if laid in the Virgin Mary's own outstretched hands...This was even after looking closely at the wheel housings and swearing I would have to cut something off. My dad got one too, he mentioned this problem also and apparently got it to fit.
Glad it worked out okay for you mikeg, I tried and tried, but ended up having to file and trim some areas to finally get it to snug together! I was kind of surprised because every other Xtreme plane has snapped together just fine!

NEW 1/32ND HERE IN ATLANTA
The # 74 and 73 Maachis, ridge p-51s, wasp 109s, black p-47s, and green 170 zeros have been around for a while here-
Whoooaah, one of the Smyrna wmarts had one of each of the following- a grey-green akagi zero, the green saipan zero, and the #3 tarantola maachi. I thought the land of fruits and nuts had a monopoly one some of these variations. Who would want that pesky battleship in their harbor anyway, aint there a nascar track somewhere they could anchor that thing to.
Sorry, the wmart rush has yet to subside, so many erratic thoughts, so little time to play with my new planes..

Armour at WM
To my surprise the WM in my AO had a shelf full of 1/100 Armour planes. Consisted of: P40, P51, Me109, P38, Spitfire, P47D, F14, F15, F16, F18, F4, and AH64. At $14.95 a pop, not a bad deal.
