FOV at Target
I just visited a brand new Target in my AO. Next to the new BBI selection was a much expanded FOV selection. They had the same 1/72 figures and tanks as before, but now feature the newer sets with the Landing Craft and the Howitzer mentioned in other threads. These were priced at $14.99, which is a lot lower than I have seen elsewhere. So if you were planning on picking these up I would wait for your Target to get them.
Also, they had, for the first time in my experience, the 1/32 FOV planes ( Mustang and Spitfire) priced at (get this!) $15!!!
I had to have both!
Oh, they also still carried the 1/32 tanks (though nothing new), so I would guess they do not plan on phasing out FOV anytime soon.

That's a great Target selection! I'm not surprised to hear that the Landing Craft and Halftrack & Howitzer sets showed up there. The 1/32 planes are a surprise and I would definitely pick up a P-51 for that price - if they'd ever come to Targets my way. I won't hold my breath for anything anytime soon, however.

Where are you located? and the Dragon Wagon is out??? WoW!!! been wanting a few of these puppies bad.csiemers wrote:Tonight I bought the Sherman and Soldiers, LCM3, and the M26 Dragon Wagon from Target
They also had the Tiger and Soldiers, but have that one already.
They were $14.99 each so a great deal to me.

Also, I forgot to mention that the helicopter was there as well. Don't remember much of the soldiers, but I think I got so wow'd by what I got I just didn't look at anything else!
I'll probably check out some more Targets in my area and see if any of them have the 1/2 track and gun.

I'm in Sarasota Fl and my local Target had all the new 1/72 scale sets. I picked up the Dragon Wagon and must say with the exception of the shiny tires I am most pleased with it. Here is a pic with a Dragon Sherman along for the ride.

Looks very nice, but I agree with you on those shiny tires, they almost look wet, nothing a coat of flat black paint wouldn't cure though. Actually the whole thing looks as though it could do with a coat of Testors Dullcote, but again no big deal. All things considered, this would be a nice addition to any 1/72 collection.picked up the Dragon Wagon and must say with the exception of the shiny tires I am most pleased with it.

The vehicles I mention have been sitting on the shelf for months while I hear endless stories about the variety of FOV people are getting at their Target. So yea, they are grade-A stinkburgers. Besides an M3 Halftrack here and there and the lone Stuart I nabbed a few months ago it's always just the same 4-5 Abrams and M-60s down in the large vehicle section on the bottom shelf. You come in and think, wait is that a piece of WWII armor? Only to uncover yet another Euro camo M-60.Ziegler2112 wrote:Crap???Rowsdower wrote:Same old crap at my Target today. Abrams and M-60s galore.

I was pulling apart my old and busted 2003-04 action grade M16 for parts for my new M3 and I notice the old one had removable tools while on the new one they are cast on and painted. Also the roadwheels on the track have the rubber sections painted black where the new one doesn't.
Anyhow, the paintjob is 200% better on the new one, no bright, glossy green paint with the funky, crooked star with the panel line border on the hood. I just thought the tool thing was odd. Same thing with the Sherman I bought at the same time. I guess they decided to cut costs along the way or something.
Just a late-night ramble.
