New King & Country Warbirds announced

For those of you interested in the King & Country Aircraft we received some information on the next release. Here is the announcement on its release:

It’s the Focke Wulf “Rammjager” — basically a piloted Flying Bomb...One of Hitler’s stable of “wonder weapons” which the Fuhrer misguidedly believed would magically reverse his fortunes of war at this late stage of the conflict.

Our polystone and metal aircraft comes complete with a young pilot (in the cockpit), a Luftwaffe guard and flight instructor plus a separate towing trolley.

WS101, by the way, is the “SdKfZ.252 Transporter” vehicle, a small halftrack to pull the trolley and aircraft. Vehicle includes Luftwaffe airman in top hatch."

We are expecting more information next week concerning prices and a picture. So far we have been having a hard time finding a picture of the real aircraft so some help would be appreciated with that. Nothing has been announced but they will be making figures for ground crews and pilots to compliment the upcoming planes.

That is the cutest little half-track I have ever seen. I hope the driver didn't suffer from feelings of inadequacy.

Hi,
It would be nice if FOV paid some attention to the North African theatre of operations, the PTO, or even the early war years with a 38(t) or Panzer III. Five versions of the King Tiger is starting to wear thin when there are so many other subjects sorely needing to be addressed...

The K&C vehicles are usually very nice in terms of detail and weathering etc., pricey yes, but nice. The thing that I hate about them is that the tracks, roadwheels, and return rollers are all molded into one solid lump with the vehicle body, and to me that just looks terrible, ugh!!

Eww. Reminds me of those Hotwheels/Matchbox tanks I used to get as a kid. All they are missing are the little plastic wheels under the belly so you can roll it across the kitchen floor.

We are expecting pictures and retail price sometime next week for the 190. King & Country is just getting back into the warbirds so no one is real sure of their pricing and release numbers yet. It appears that they will release two different lines; a wooden version and a polystone/metal version. The 190 will be the polystone/metal version.

As far as the tracks go that has been one of the biggest complaints with their vehicles. They seemed to address that with a couple of their releases late last year. They molded the tracks separate and then attached them to the tank. I really can't tell if they used the new process for the WS101 or not. Here is a picture of the M10 Tank Destroyer BBA011 with the new tracks.

As is typical of K&C the weathering, detailing, accessories, and especially the figures, are superb in my opinion. A really beautiful piece. The molded tracks aside, I think even the most discriminating collector would be proud to dispaly that one.

Well we finally have a picture of the new Warbirds.

The new release will be WS100 and is a model of the Rammjager. The Rammjager was basically a piloted missle. There has been some discussion whether this plane actually made it to production or not. Anyone who has any more information please let us know what you have found.

It looks like the skid, the Rammjager with pilot and the two standing figures will be included as one set. The half track and figure will be set WS101.

The "RammJaeger" looks remarkably similar to the Japanese "Baka" piloted bomb. I read somewhere that in Japanese the word Baka means "stupid"

I guess it's safe to assume that the Germans did not have quite as many "volunteers" to pilot these things as the Japs did

that rammjager is a modified V1 flying bomb. Looks similar to the modified piloted VI intended for attacking bridges and other high value targets. Not strictly suicide planes, the pilot was supposed to bail out after setting the flight controls on target.

They went into production but Hitler, surprisingly, forbade them from being used. Strange for a guy who routinely ordered his soldiers to fight to the last man.

The version K&C has made i've never seen before. Different nose and cockpit canopy to the other 'suicide' version. Maybe the pointy nose was supposed to be better for ramming aircraft, dunno. No engine, so i guess it was a parasite glider, taken aloft by some larger aircraft.

I saw another post by King & Country on this plane or jet I guess I should say. They used the following book as a reference. Luftwaffe Advanced Aircraft Projects to 1945” Volume 1, Fighters and Ground Attack Aircraft

They showed a picture of the page in the book with its stats and information. According to the book it did in fact have a jet motor.

I have heard some people question the release of a aircraft that never saw combat. Anyone have any thoughts on that.

ah yes, i can see the little outlet for a motor under the rear fuselage. I don't see any intake though. I wonder if it was a rocket, instead of a jet?

KC probably chose to make it because it's very small, simple and German. Maybe a Komet would have been a better choice though?...although it would be a fair bit bulkier and more complex to make.

that's a neat picture....i wonder if it is an original wwii version. The canopy looks wrong.

I was thinking: KC should have done a Natter instead of the rammjager thingy. The natter wasn't much larger, is more interesting and went operational just before the war ended (although none saw any bombers to fight).

Its a real one captured by the US Army but the original windscreen was busted over time what you see is a replacement.

King & Country has announced the price for the new WS100. The name of the set is The Fuhrer's Last Fighter WS100. It will be released in June for $119.00.
