Any news on new FOV 1/32 planes?

Post by bravo5 » Mon Jan 08, 2007 6:58 pm

Been away for a while, just curious if there has been any mention of FOV continuing their 1/32 aircraft line?

All I can say is one member posted that his wife thinks she saw a 1/32 Action grade Corsair at Target. There could be meat to this as several new 1/32 Action grade armor has shown up there without warning.
(US M3 Lee and M5 Stuart; though nobody has seen the Stuart yet...just pics)

We should have hard info by mid Feb. though.

I did see a repaint of the P-51D at TRU sometime before Christmas. It was very similar to the "Petie 2nd" scheme that was avaliable earlier.

It was posted on the other forum that FOV was getting ready to re-issue the P-51s and Spits again.. :?

You mean like this one in the pic?? The FOV 1/32nd birds are very nice IMO, they are a bit pricey compared to the all plastic 32X offerings from 21st Century, but to a certain extent I think you get what you pay for in better detail, moving control surfaces, and accessories with the "diecast" birds from FOV.

Does it still have golfball sized rivets? What is it with model mustangs and rivets. I've never bought a FOV fighter for this reason (the Spit has 'em too). My 21st P-51 has grapefruit sized rivets. The plane couln't carry the weight of that much metal, never mind the drag

Similar to that one, save the blue on the cowling was a bit more "purplish," the instrument hood in the cockpit was left unpainted, and there was some sort of shark mouth design on the underside of the engine cowling. I'm not tripping out and know that what I saw was not what's pictured, though thats the plane I thought it was at first. I apologize for not looking more closely or purchasing it to provide more definitive proof, but there's just something that keeps turning me off with the BBI P-51. Its not so much the price or the details, but the overly huge rockets

Here's a pic of the new Mustang, same sqd, 458th, just different noseart and id #'s/letter. The blue is much darker and it lacks invasion stripes.

FOV 1:32 Planes

Post by lightning2000 » Wed Jan 24, 2007 5:46 pm

Hi,
There's the P-39 Airacobra which Hanomag graciously informed us about earlier this week. As for the 2nd issue schemes like the grey Bf 109, FOV doesnt plan to make it available until their inventory of the first Bf 109 is pared down. This strategy was used with their vehicle line. One vehicle had to be phased out before the next one could come online...

On a good note though the Grey Bf 109 did show up in the 07 catalog. But Lightning is right....sadly....as it makes me finding the first issue German Motorcycle very difficult.

Interesting that they released the 3 Spits at once. Bought all 3 at the same time. I know there was a lag between the first Mustang and the second one. I hope the grey 109 hits soon as that's the main one I'm after. The P-39 will be very awesome, probably have to have 2 of those.

P-39?! Very exciting. Do we know when it will be released?
