Found 1/48th P40 (photos added)

Post by rmoore456 » Fri Dec 29, 2006 7:01 pm

Found the 1/48th P40 Warhawk at the Washington, Illinois Walmart. Its not the Aleutian Tiger scheme. OD and brown camo, white tail with black horizontal stripe and white leading wing edges. Insignia on lower cowl is a skull in a flight helmet superimposed over a bloody scythe. Lt. J.B. Paris, a balloon with "Rusty" in it and three Japanese kill flags under canopy.
Must have been a box of only these as there were six on the shelf.

Nice plane indeed. Nice pics too btw.

Should I assume that those pink clothes on the dryer are your GF/Wife's?

Saw those birds in Cerritos WM, same skin. I used to build 1/48 scale fighters. they look so small now.

The pictures did it!! Dang, now I'm going to have to start "collecting" 1/48th, too. That is very nice. Meine Frau will be thrilled with my decision; yeah right 8) .

Neat, a P-40N. I get a kick out of the chrome wheels.
