How limited?- this edition-

Post by mikeg » Thu Dec 14, 2006 7:05 pm

The last batch of 1/32 21st macchis and zeros claimed "1 of 5000" per paint scheme (until reissuance of said scheme). The new group of stukas and corsairs says "limited edition" only on box sticker- does this mean they are making millions, five thousand, or just about as many as we manage to see on the shelves of each scheme this time around?

I think about 5,000 of a particular scheme is a good guess and the actual quota is probably somewhere in that mark. If there are four paintschemes of the Stuka, with 5,000 per scheme, that's 20,000 planes, which is probably more than enough to satisfy the current collector and public demand.

This is one question I've also had since I noticed the lack of the "5000" number on the current 1/32 box windows.

Anyone ever seen any official info on it?

It's not on the Opels boxes.

I think if it's a Direct Historical variant than it's limited.

I don't remember if the S1 PzKw IV ausf. D was limited or not.

It's not on the Opels boxes.
Then I think it is safe to assume that many more than 5000 of each paintscheme we have seen so far on the Opels will be produced. The only items that I have seen that have the "LE" (limited edition paintscheme) label stuck on them to date are the 32XW aircraft, including some of the "dogfight" sets.
