Post by Juneau@1 » Sun Nov 05, 2006 4:38 pm

Found this picture of the Easy Model German 12.8 Self-propelled Gum:

I wonder when this will hit the states.

Do you know if that is the plastic kit version that needs to be built and painted or if it's the prebuilt/prepainted version? They make both and the plastic kit version that requires building has been out for a bit.

It's not the kit, I can clearly read Easy model and the number No.36263 in the text, this means it's a finished model.

What you probably mean is the TRP07210 from Trumpeter (same factory as Easy Model)

I hope they do a better job at choosing the right color Panzer Grey,
because I have 4 models from Easy Model but I am not very statisfied with some of their paintjobs.
I have repainted the Pershing with Tamiya Olive Drab and now it looks very sharp. 8)
I am also considering repainting the AS-90 and M113 now both in the original desert camo.
They both look very weird next to some Dragons models I have.

Kind of a wierd vehicle to mass produce with only 2 being built for trial by fire in Russia. I guess that's what Easy Model has been done in the past though. At least its not another commonly produced vehicle. This chassis was part of the testing that led to the Tiger I if I'm not mistaken. From the little I've read about them, the pair did see combat. One of them was allegedly captured intact by the Soviets with 22 kill rings on the barrel.

I'll buy one or two for wargaming.

These Asian model and hobby and toy companies are just head over heels in love with anything German.
Look at most of what Dragon puts out lately; German and Shermans.

And Whittman - the Asians have put him on a pedestal, with offerings of anything Whittman - from 1/144th to 1/16th. If they can attach his name to a German AFV - they market it.

Who knew.

I hear you. I'm planning to repaint a couple of desert M113s, plus I ended up with a pair of AS90s, so I need to change the number on one of them...
