1/48 21C?

I found a 1/48 Little Bird helicopter (2 variants) and a 1/48 Humvee (2 variants) at Wal-Mart tonight. They were made by "New Millennium Toys" One peculiar thing I noticed was the M113 on the box looked similar to the XD M113. I compared the art and they were more than similar, it was the same picture. On the bottom of the box, the M113 was also made by "New Millennium Toys." Is that just another name for 21C?

Are there more 1/48 items in the line?

NMT is the same as 21c. You sure they are 1/48 and not 1/32? They're suupposed to be releasing both of those subjects in 1/32.

Regarding scale, I can't be too about the humvees. They are between the size of the FoV 1/32 Humvee and the Corgi 1/64. I didn't buy any humvees, but I'd guess they were 1/48.

I did buy a little bird. The box clearly says 1/48. The Little Bird, when eyballed, looks 1/48 as well. It's about half the length of the FoV Black Hawk. The 1:1 little bird is about 30 feet long (fuselage only) the Black Hawk is about 64 feet long.

I'll try to take some pictures at lunch of the Little Bird.

Various shots of the new 1:48 NMT Little Bird next to the FoV Black Hawk. And the box.

Yikes, I need to dust the Black Hawk.

So far I have seen the two Little Bird variants, this one (which is more green than brown without the flash) and a black one with no insignia, same configuration.

Then the two humvees, although one may be a little different.

Found them at WalMart in Pleasant Grove (maybe Lindon, not sure which city it actually is in) Utah.

$5.76 a pop.

Very interesting! That is deffinitely the same M113 picture as on the 1:18 scale version. We have never heard anything from 21st regarding a venture into this scale - no prototypes at toyfairs, no inside intel, nothing! I thought NMT was a seperate company, associated with Wal Mart, and contracted by 21st to produce their diecast vehicles. If these are indeed traceable to 21st, then it may be a way they are trying to compete with FOV and Dragon for a spot in the smaller scales.

The box copy on the 21C XD plane that was there was almost identical to that the text found on the bottom of the NMT, for whatever that's worth.

The price the little birds and the humvees were something like $5.76 each.

Why is it that all of the supposed "Little Birds" of late are actually MD Defenders? The US never operated this type.

There is a big difference between the Defender and the AH/MH-6.

I would say that this helicopter, despite being marked as an AH-6 and Little Bird all over the box, is much closer to a export TOW Defender. Except it doesn't have the sight on the left side.

Hoverbug, do you know which particular flavor this one would be, if it is a real version?

I probably should have called it an unknown MD 500 variant.

The modified exhaust marks its as a 500MD. The TOW sight is apparently missing. I've only seen this type of exhaust on the Kenyan Defenders.

For those of you who have seen the 1/48 items at WM are they selling? It seems that our WM's here have a ton of them sitting on the shelves. The only one we don't have are the M113's.
