Admiral Toys Pz III

Post by smh_1021 » Thu Aug 17, 2006 1:19 pm

Well ... I received the two (2) Admiral Toys Pzkpfw III (tan - Afrika Korps)
models that I purchased from a retailer today. I understand that the feedback has generally been positive - but, I am not satisfied or impressed.

Model no. 1 - three (3) track wheels are missing (not theentire wheel, but the outer 1/2 of the wheel assembly). Two (2) from the suspension and one (1) from the additional wheels that are mounted on the hull.

Model no. 2 - the 'cable' that is mounted on the rear of the tank's hull is hanging on very loosely. Sure, fixing the item would be no problem, but I should not have to.

Additionally, the painting of the black around the wheels appears very unappealing, especially on the wheels on the suspension. The tan os showing quite prevalently from the inner wheel and there are a number of areas on both models whete the 'black' does not even seem to have been applied with any attention to neatness or detail. I would have imagined that the suspension wheels would have been painted similar to the wheels that are attached to the hull.

And (I just noticed) that one of the guide wheels on the top of the suspension is painted entirely black - which is very noticable given the remaining two (2) wheels that have been painted black with a tan center.

I guess I was just 'fortunate' enough to get not one (1), but two (2) 'lemons'. And, the retailer I purchased the items from just informed me he doesn't know if he will be able to get replacements - based upon that a 'master' case would have to be ordered.

My vote stays with Dragon and HobbyMaster for the moment.

First, let me apologize that you received two lemons.

Second, your retailer should not have to replace your tanks. Admiral Toys takes care of all its customer concerns. If you have a problem with your tank email us, customerservice@admiraltoys.com and we will replace your tanks at no cost to you.

You will receive better tanks then you have received in the past. It sounds like you won the ugly lottery.

Regards,
Jason

smh_1021,

Jason is a man of his word. If he says that his company will make it right, it does it! Some other members on the board have had minor items wrong with a plane and Jason has been able to right all the wrongs.
Do as he says: email his customer service and have some faith! :D

FWIW, I found no critical issues with the Afrika Panzer III that I purchased. It's a nice little piece, and I enjoy it immensely.
