"Achtung Panzer" down but not out with our help

Post by ltcbj » Mon Jan 23, 2006 5:34 am

George Parada has had to (at least temporarily) shut down his fabulous informational site, "Actung Panzer", due to a shortage of funds. He needs $250/month to cover the site costs given both the size of the site and number of visitors each month.
I don't know about you all but I have found the breadth and depth of the site invaluable for research, knowledge and photos. If you go to: www.achtungpanzer.com or you can email George directly at: georgeparada@rogers.com to find out how you may help get this site back up.

Achtung Panzer

Hi,
I'm a little confused. Since he doesnt generate any income on the site like an e-commerce site, why cant he just move the site to a web host that charges alot less? Even if he is getting alot of hits, I'm sure he can download the data then upload it to a new host at far lower monthly rates.

I suggest you contact him with that information, which he may not know or may not be able to act on.

Hi,
I'll see what I can do. We're in the process of building a brand new site and I can tell you it costs less than $250 per month in maintenance charges...

I'M JUST THE MESSENGER. I'm also sure that George will appreciate any help, including information, that he can get. He has put years of time and money into building and maintaining his site and it would be a shame for all of us to lose this great resource. Thanks Lightning....
