Dragon Hummel and Hornisse release dates

Post by easy8 » Thu Nov 10, 2005 12:54 pm

I see the motorpool has bumped the Hummel and Hornisse from a November arrival to a December arrival...sigh...I wish they could meet a deadline! Hey Lighting, also I see you guys still have the Dragon Panthers with zimm and the halftracks listed...are they still on the docket for Dragon to release? They were announced quit awhile ago, but we keep getting other releases instead.

Dragon Armor

Post by lightning2000 » Thu Nov 10, 2005 1:28 pm

Hi,
Unfortunately, Dragon keeps delaying the release of the entire list of armored vehicles with no reasons provided. The new T-34 in captured German livery and winter camo is in as is the new M1046 Humvee with TOW launcher. On the downside, the next shipment isnt expected until late November. That coupled with Thanksgiving, means that if there is anything new coming in, it'll be early to mid December before they're available. Looks like the German halftracks and Panthers with zimmerit are now going to be a 2006 release. Nothing we can do except wait...

Cordially,

My local hobby shop has these listed for a 12/31 release.

They still list them as a November releases. My guess is they will update the release dates on the last day of November to reflect a December/January release.

It's not lightning2000's fault if Dragon doesn't supply him when they are supposed to. Good old Dragon is great at announcing some models (planes and armor) and not delivering them for a year or more.
Personally I check this Dragon page http://www.dragonmodelsusa.com/dmlusa/p ... tlcode=DRR for their armor announcements and up dates. A few pieces were supposed to be released in Oct and they just keep delaying them month after month.

Hornisse

Post by lightning2000 » Wed Dec 28, 2005 2:42 pm

Hi,
Actually, we have some good news. Dragon is shipping us #60060, the first Hornisse self-propelled gun. With the holidays and all, we should have them in stock and ready for shipment late next week, barring any problems.

In case you're interested, their first Me-262 is shipping too. No word yet on their ambitious January slate, which has about 10-12 1:72 scale vehicles scheduled for shipment. Just a guess, but I think you can probably see a bunch of new vehicles coming out soon so they can show them at the upcoming Toy Fair in NYC this February. There's also Chinese New Years right around the corner, so the manufacturers usually do a full court press to get as much product out the door before they shutter their Chinese factories in February.

Happy New Years!

I wasn't blaming lightning for the delay, I meant Dragon once again was not meeting their deadline...guess the way I typed it came out sounding wrong. Anyway, glad to hear the Hornisse is on the way!
