Very sad news.. I was looking forward to the new Sherman re-paint. I think there is a big toy show coming up. I was thinking they would show all their new items at the show. Another nail in the coffin for 1/32 diecast military. I had a feeling the Rep. was pulling your leg. They are making a big mistake. The market for 1/32 is theirs , if Fov would have done some new types of tanks. You could see the quality of the product went down hill after the competition with 21st was over.

they are supposed to be making an F-117...as there is no news of it being cancelled i presume it's still coming out.

Curious, both FOV and 21st Century Toys made the 75mm M4 and both made the British Firefly, but neither has made the Easy 8, or M4A3E8. I don't think there is one in 1:32 for that matter

I can see where they would want to cancel some of the aircraft on that list as the market is saturated with other makes of them.
I was possibly interested in the CH-53 though.

For 1/32 armor collectors, this is more than disappointing, it's ominous...nobody's gonna pick up that kind of slack...
It's too early to panic, but I got a sinking feeling...
and to think I was hoping for a re-release of the 32nd scale Challenger...

Is there that much 1:35 scale prebuilt out there?

There's always 1:43, 1:48 or 1:50 ....can't decide what to collect in between scales from Corgi, Hobbymaster, Eaglemoss, etc.

Have a few of the 1:43 Armour Collection from years ago.

Bought a Panzerwerfer recently on ebay listed as 1:72 by a Chinese seller. When it arrived it was obviously bigger. It was written1:48 on the box. Turns out it was an Eaglemoss. Decided to keep it as it was cool anyways.

Not a lot, but most of what is out there is either Minichamps (pricey) or pre-built Dragon kits. Those are comparable in price to latter-day FOV releases but with better detail. Better variety as well, but I really don't know what the range currently is - or even if they are still selling pre-builts.

I have long feared FOV was dying and is now dead. For me Sell Toy is not the answer. I have not seen anything new from Minichamps in ages. All that is left is to purchase old FOV and 21st and customize those offerings. It doesn't satisfy my desire for new offerings but it is better than nothing. Sadly 1/32 vehicles have come to an end... I must re-evaluate my interest in this hobby/collection.

If you want to be saved by children's toys. I collect military miniatures and expect a minimum level of detail - which Sell Toy is never going to reach with their vintage Marx Toy aesthetics.

But I'm not you and if this works for you, then you are ahead of the game and the other collectors will have to make their own decisions. For me, this type of stuff is not a substitute for 21C or FOV and I made my decision according to my needs. The only thing I miss about 1/32 is the convenience of being able to just unbox and display them, but I enjoy the end result of my kit-building.

Well said, and totally agree.

Didn't buy lower quality 1/32 in the past, and not going to in the future.

My collection does meet minimal standards, and if not reached, it's a no from me.

Don't get me wrong; I understand there were toy-like aspects to 21C/FOV but those were concessions to the play-factor/accuracy ratio. These companies appealed to those who demanded that the toy be in proportion at the very least, and to its fellow toys in the product line as well. The 1/18 stuff I see at Target and Big Lots has all those grossly underscaled vehicles, but at the MSRP points that sells at who can afford to manufacture a properly scaled Abrams at FOV-level detail or a properly proportioned A-10?

Nobody, as we have seen. Even a 1/32 A-10 would be pretty costly. Trumpeter makes the only kits and those sell for $100 all day long. How much would it cost to have a factory worker build it for you? And modify it so the gear and canopy work, or whatever else might move?

I agree a savvy person could round up a bunch of Pz III's and IV's to modify/repaint as there is much you can do with both platforms; we have seen examples of this from several of our own members. The Sd.Kfz. 251's had many variants. But, again, there comes a limit to what you can collect within reasonable means unless something drastically changes in the diecast realm.

In the meantime, let's wait and see exactly what this new line that has Unimax all excited is about.

I visited a Hobby Town yesterday, which has had FOV in the past and occasionally I have picked up some pieces which had been reduced. Yesterday there were no reduced pieces and their stock overall was well reduced. The average price for 1/32 was around $80. I'm sorry, NO WAY, especially when the new product looks 'toy like' because there is absolutely no weathering what so ever. I thought about asking the staff but my past experiences dictated they would have no clue. Has anyone spoken to George at Minutemen or Matt at Hobby Bunker?

Forces of Valor is alive! Actually at the end of the year Panache Place, originally formed as a marketing firm for FOV, has closed but transferred all there inventory and customers to "The Flying Mule" They are the new distributor/importer. The are also a retailer and understand the business better. My contact is Eric Knell who once worked for 21st Century toys in their heyday. So I think there will be some growing pains but I think you will see it head in a better direction as the year goes on.
