Removing Skymax canopies
anyone have experience with removing Skymax canopies....i'm specifically interested in the Val. Just wondering how easy it is before i blunder in and break something.
i never met an airplane i didn't like...

Mine came off easily. The whole thing comes out as one piece. I used a fingernail under the windshield and pried it up.
It does have an antenna so careful with that unless you haven't put it on yet.

ok great, thanks D.
i want to cut off the rear portion to make the canopy look open and install a little mg in the rear. Nice to know it comes off easily. I already broke the canopy of another plane while trying to remove it, so i thought i'd ask this time..

So which Val are you making an open gunner station, the tan/ beige or one of the grey ones?
You'd almost want to put it in some sort of brace or miter to get a clean cut.

the Akagi grey one. I'll just do the cut freehand, it's not hard i've done stuff like this before, even with 1/144 scale.
