This aircraft was always one of my favorite designs. A truly beautiful shape. Nice work! Very accurate finish and detail. How much weight did you need in the nose?

Thanks. Agree it was one of the most interesting designs in the later war.
I did not use any weight at all. However the instruction calls fo 1 gram to be added in the nose (1:72 scale).

Nice job on the Shinden, cnq.

I, too, find this plane fascinating and I have a bunch of them, including three diecasts plus one pewter, replica, in my collection.

Thanks Epap. I did not know it's also available in diecasts, 1:72 scale ?

I have three diecast Shindens in the 1:87th scale from Hachette and one 1:72nd scale rendition in pewter from a mid -1990s Imperial Enterprises line. Two of the diecast Shindens plus the Imperial Enterprises model are pictured below. The latter, is a total redo as it was painted an overly dark green, was missing its yellow wing flashes and, worse, had no door or bay for its front wheel. THe Hachette models, while current are not easy to get----you buy them through a cooperating Japanese book store. The old Imperial Enterprise models are extremely rare and high priced.

They're looking very nice. I'm thinking about doing another one in Luft camo completed with crosses & swastica, a night fighter version.

Great footage. You can see how they had to add the mini wheels on the lower tails after the prop chopped up the ground and got damaged. The last part shows that it actually flew.
Here's a couple pics of the F-TOYS 1/144 version. A rare and pricy item now.

If you want to pick up a cheap little one that you'll have to repaint check out the Disney Plane Set at Toys R Us.Yes I know it's just a little toy plane but some of you model wizzes out there could probably do a nice re -paint job on it.
