This up coming release plane from Corgi looks very nice but at very steep price...$209.99 for 1:72 model....Ouch.... That's why I build my own kits now...

i'm interested but after seeing their recent b-17, with its mismatched plastic/painted metal colours i'm going to wait for reviews on the Vulcan, as i suspect it wil have to have a fair bit of plastic content, in order to avoid excessive weight.

Agree with you completely. Recent prices from Corgi are totally ridiculous.

The Vulcan is a big aircraft, with a big wing area as well. Model is about 18 inches long, and 18 inches wide.

Easily the biggest 1/72 diecast that has been done so far, so don't think $209 is unreasonable. And not just Corgi's prices that have risen. HM and Century Wings prices are up substantially as well.

Think this first release Vulcan will do well, and I have put in my pre order as soon as it was announced. Only a limited amount coming to North America, so pre order was basically necessary to make sure on getting it at MSRP.

This will be a big one for sure, so I agree with Snake's assessment regarding its price. Corgi almost always uses a ton of diecast metal in the construction of their aircraft and its likely the Vulcan will be no exception. Just look at those massive wings and figure they will be metal. Part of me wants to get this - its the first "modern" bomber we're getting in 1:72 and I have a little personal connection to the Vulcan, having once had the chance to get inside an actual Vulcan bomber at the Castle Air Museum in Atwater, CA (relatively near to where I live). But then, really, all the model would do is sit around and look big. I'm curious as to the features as well. Hopefully a couple figures visible through the cockpit windows and an opening bomb bay.
