KING & COUNTRY 2006

Post by graycap » Sun Dec 04, 2005 12:46 pm

I went to big Toy Soldier Show in Central London on 03 December. It was sponsored this year by K & C and Andy Nielson the founder and owner was there in present. All the current lines were on display. As many of you may know Wittmman's Tiger has now joined the ranks of the discontinued.

On display were examplesof the new Afrika Corps releases scheduled for next February. There will be four sets:
1) Rommel's 250 command half-track "Grief" together with Rommel himself, a radio operator (both inside the vehicle) and another Afrika Korps soldier standing saluting. This set will be a limited release, ie expensive!
2) 105 mm howitizer with crew.
3) half-track prime mover for above.
4) Group of Afrika Korps officers with a captured and wounded British officer (looking distinctly peeved!)

March sees more ancient Egyptians - including naked dancing girls!! In June there will be a brand-new Panther Mk V (12 SS Pz in Normandy).

To complement the Afrika Korps there will be some new 8th Army models. Andy showed me a photo of an Indian Army Vickers MG team that looked very good. He said WWII is currently his most popular line so there shoulds be additions to all the various WWII series in the coming year.

Thanks Graycap for the update. I believe it was rumored there would also be another release of Rommel with his staff car. Any word on this?

No, I'm afraid. The only mention of Rommel was in connection with the new AK releases.

Those DAK releases sound excellent especially the Rommel Half Track.
Collecting K&C is a great hobby but it's bloomin expensive!
